Franklyn - Green, Phillipe, Riley

Searched, but didn't see a thread for this except a one pertaining to a lawsuit.

I hadn't heard about this one, but a friend sent on the trailer today.

I think it looks really interesting and stylistic. I may even go see this one in the threater to give it some support.

Plot: The story of four lost souls in a futuristic London society where there is no separation between Church and State.

Interesting & stylistic is right

I'd say that the plot summary is somewhat misleading.

The London actually inhabited by the four "lost souls" is modern day London. There is another city that features at various points during the film, I'd say it is less futuristic than it is gothic and here religion - any religion - certainly dominates.

I have to say that I found this a fascinating piece of cinema.

The other city and its inhabitants were visually stunning and juxtaposed nicely with the mundane setting for the actual action.

I would say that it is a film that benefits from one paying close attention as the various strands unfold and recombine.

Caught this last night.

Beginning was slow. Started to pick up pace, but felt like it was still wandering. You see the peices start to come together, but then the ending just falls flat.

I would not recommend this very highly to anybody.

Ashame too since I was looking forward to it (preview looked good). I will say all of the acting was well done.

Just got the BD, a blind buy. Really really enjoyed it. Green is spectacular in it.

I got this as well - trailer better than the movie. But overall, a very creative film - good once I would say. And of course great to see Eva Green, my favorite actress who barely works...And Ryan Philippe is getting better with each film he's in - not as annoying as he used to be.

Anyone want to buy my DVD for a total of $15 including shipping?

I have no problem shipping to Canada as long as it doesn't cost me more...what's your city and zipcode?

I got about 30 minutes in, then Eject, which I don't do often. I can appreciate what was attempted but it did not grab me at all. Was really looking forward to this but it just didn't do it. Thankfully it was just a rental.
