Running time: 76 minutes

And for some reason he ordered it twice. I guess hoping two PG-13s would make it an R and 76 times 2 would make it 152 minutes in length.
Whoops I actually had to double check to make sure I did only indeed order it once. Must have accidentally put it in twice for reason.
But thats not actually a movie at all. Just a bunch of shorts.

How was everyone's theater thus far? Ours on Wednesday night was about 80% full at the 5pm show. I was very surprised.

There were some cool parts, but overall I would have to give it an "eh." Didn't give a crap about the characters, and thought the ending was a bit of a letdown.

So...did 9 copy off of Little Big Planet, or was it the other way around?

This is fun.

Actually it is. It's an anthology film. Plus it was rated PG-13 by the MPAA, you know, the Motion Pictures Association of America (key words being Motion Pictures)

Saying that it isn't, well then I guess for you Four Rooms, Creepshow, Creepshow 2, and Twilight Zone: The Movie aren't movies.

I suppose you consider the Animatrix as one film as well then?

Nope. Had WB gone to the trouble to get have it pass through the MPAA, and get a rating of course.

The same debate can be waged all day for theatrical vs. unrated vs. director's cuts.

But they Did give Final Flight of the Osirus a rating! It was even presented theatrically before Dreamcatcher in theaters!
Batman: Gotham Knight and The Animatrix are in the same league. Either they both are not "films" or they are.
I dont know why I am even debating this. Its not a film or a movie in my minds eye .

Gotham Knight and The Animatrix aren't films. They're shorts on a DVD. Which can be played all at once (I know The Animatrix can do this...I'm assuming B:GK does this as well....)

Also...I think lately you're being pummeled more so than ever before. I think it's time to move on to another site. I think it's time to rethink your "beating the dead horse" strategy.

Re: 9 - animated film by Shane Acker, produced by Burton & Bekmambetov

I watched this last night and really liked it. The movie hit the ground running and the animation was top notch. I have not seen the short, nor any trailers, so that may have helped my expectations. Though I couldn't help but feel a little ripped off by paying $18 for just over an hour, I do think the movie would have suffered greatly if they had tried to stretch it any longer. I would easily recommend a matinee show.

I strongly disagree here. This is one time where I think 10-15 minutes were completely justified so they could give us some solid character development and insight into the world and why the Stitchpunks are what they are.

Thankfully Omaha hasn't gotten that expensive yet. It was for me and my wife.

I kind of liked not knowing why they are the way they are. I also didn't mind the lack of character development so much. Though I do admit that
Spoiler:
some of the "deaths" didn't really pack a punch.

My thought during the movie was

Spoiler:

If the inventor split his soul 9 times to make the characters, he's way more badass than Voldemort.

Re: 9 - animated film by Shane Acker, produced by Burton & Bekmambetov

Just got this from Netflix today on BD and loved it. The animation is 100,000,000 better than "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". And dare I say, just a little better than "Coraline". And I do like that movie overall better than "9". But animation wise, there is just no comparison. And I'm only bringing this up because "9" is not even being mentioned in any animation award discussions and predictions I've seen.

Great animation. Not an overall spectacular movie, but definitely original, bizarre and entertaining.

I really liked this.

I think I'm gonna watch this again this week.

Re: 9 - animated film by Shane Acker, produced by Burton & Bekmambetov

Decent but not great. Nice animation but for a story that focuses on soul/survival of humanity it was pretty devoid of life... I didn't really care about any of the characters and all the action just feels like a hollow exercise. Some nice ideas at work but never really came together for me.

I liked it quite a bit actually. I think it was perfect length for the movie, considering it is a fleshed out version of the short. Looking forward to seeing it again sometime.
