Here are all some films I enjoy that have either overall depressing/tearjerker themes or at least one or two scenes that really start the wateworks flowing.

In the Mood for Love
The Fall
Dancer In the Dark
Somewhere In Time
A Very Long Engagement
Casper
City of God
Requiem for a dream
The Fountain
Time After Time
The Red Violin
Washington Square
Watership Down

In The Mood for Love, really? Why's that? I love the film but I don't cry...though the ending is artistically poetic and sad.

Brokedown Palace is a pretty depressing and sad movie. Ill add a few more when I can think of them.

The Green Mile -- is a wonderful film, but my gosh it is heartbreaking in parts.

Old Yeller -- only watched it once as a kid and haven't watched it since.

Braveheart -- the end is sad, but it is awesome right befre the credits roll -- "Now, bleed with me!"

Saving Private Ryan -- "Earn this"

Shawshank Redemption -- very sad in parts -- however this movie has my favorite ending of all time -- absolutely wonderful and makes me cry each time I watch it.

soon to be -- Marley and Me -- from what my wife has told me from the book -- this movie is gonna devestate me at the end.

Steel Magnolias -- the end hits really close to home for me -- my sister passed away in almost the exact same manner. great movie though.

(You're right about Mother wanting him, kid.)
