Did Red Buttons play a crook in Pete's Dragon? I don't remember, but a Disney crook is a huge stretch I admit.

Eddie Albert was the nasty warden in the original The Longest Yard.

Van Johnson was The Archer in the old Batman series, but that's a stretch too.

That wasn't his fault. Hitchcock wanted him to be guilty, but the studio wouldn't allow it at the time. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what prevented a lot of actors of that era from having a more diverse filmography.
