Re: World War Z

If I have to sit through this, there had BETTER be a montage during the battle of New Mexico featuring Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" playing while a line of trained marksmen pick off a moving wall of zombies one at a time for over three days.

I mean it.

If they run, it probably won't happen.

Re: World War Z

Why do they keep trying to make Marc Forster "Action Director" a thing? The dude is terrible with action.

Re: World War Z

The trailer had a few cool scenes, but lots of the action looked cartoonish- I probably won't catch it in theaters. I have not read the book, so I don't have that baggage- but it still looked corny. I guess the sorts of people who like the Resident Evil flicks will probably like this.

The success of that franchise absolutely baffles me. Each movie is worse than the last.

Good news! You don't HAVE to sit through any movie! Turns out they're all optional!

Yet you keep seeing them. Guess you're part of the problem...

I've only ever seen the 1st. I thought it was a glossy, slick take on a genre that doesn't lend itself to either adjective. While I guess it may not be prudent to criticize films I haven't seen: I've never seen a trailer or clip, read a review, or met a fan of the film who hasn't lead me to believe that the sequels were nothing more than a continuation of the things I hate most about the original. A lot of the scenes in the World War Z trailer look like they could have been lifted from a Resident Evil sequel.

How would you know this unless you're seeing them, in which case you're part of the problem.

The first one is the only one I saw in its entirety. Ive seen enough bits and pieces of the sequels on cable to know they haven't gotten any better.

I thought the same thing.

Did not like how the action of the film looked.

Zombies looked like fast moving ants.

Re: World War Z

The effects remind of the CG crap from I Am Legend.

I guess Zombies are all the rage now.

Re: World War Z

Still looks terrible.

I'm more interested in seeing a prequel explaining how Pitt ended up with such a homely wife.

Re: World War Z

Can anybody explain to me who Brad Pitt is and why it is so important for him to find a memo in Russia? This has shit-fest smeared all over it.

Still holding my breath for somebody to take the book and do a faithful adaptation as a mini-series. I would be happy if this movie was an extended telling of one of the chapters in the book! Instead, they take the name and the fact that it has zombies in it ... to hell with anything that actually made the book good.

Re: World War Z

Ha, that Springboard trailer has an unfortunate thumbnail image. I loved the book, and I know this isn't the book, but I'm good to go for the movie.

Re: World War Z

First time I saw the trailer for this film my first impression was that it's a rip off of War of the Worlds.

Re: World War Z

I still want to see it. Looks like it could bring some good drama. I've never read the book and still need to at some point. Regardless of its adaptive nature.

Re: World War Z

The movie's title only makes sense in American English.

Sums it up for me. Looks like it's going to be a long movie.
