Goodness, if it went the PG-13 route I'd be skipping the theaters and getting in line for the unrated extended cut DVD.

Didn't Stallone in the recent EW interview guarantee to us that it would be R-rated?

He can't go back on his word, not when the lives of so many are at stake.

Can someone post the Suicide Hotline # for Solid Snake PAC? I have a feeling he might need it if this happens.

Assuming Sly didn't bankroll the film himself, his word means jack shit unfortunately.

I'm not going to kill myself, though I bet if chris_sc77 or whatever it was here..he'd kill himself quickly. If true..my childhood dream has been neutered before it could even get it up to see if it works.

I just hope it stays R. I mean...the studio has to know that this thing will only survive cuz of it's fanbase and a few straggler as well. But dominantly it's fanbase. JSP may just go for the hell of it. I'd go to see it as the *cough*...PG-13 cut...but...I'd steal feel horribly teased. It'd be like getting to have sex w/ the perfect girl but..turns out all of a sudden she's encased in a clear unbreakable container (somehow she's still breathing) and you can't get to naked awesomeness. It's a horrible tease this PG-13.

Seriously though, I think I'd lose a bit of respect for Stallone if this happened. It may be out of his control..but if I were him I'd be bitching up a storm cuz he knows what HIS fans want out of this. And what every fan for the other actors (and non-actors) want out of it.

I think it was just Monday of this week, maybe Tuesday, that Harry Knowles said Stallone sent him an email that stated "this movie will absolutely be a hard "R", I've got bodies being ripped apart everywhere".

I don't want bodies being ripped apart. I want more young children being thrown into trashcans of fire!

I think it was Harry himself, here's the review. He even comments on why he wrote it the way he did in the Talkback.

As vulgar as it is, at least Harry was a better back then. EDIT: On second thought, he's always been a shit writer.

That review from Harry almost made me lose my breakfast. His justification in the Talkback didn't do anything to help.

Fat ass, crippled douche...

Re: Stallone. Statham. Jet Li... The Expendables

Crisis Adverted

A rep tells Hollywood Elsewhere that the film "has always been conceived as an R-rated film, as Stallone himself has confirmed to other press outlets throughout the filmmaking process. There is not a PG-13 version of the film in the works, nor has there ever been. The MPAA R rating is official and final."
