MGM Pumps New Blood in to Farrelly Bros. Three Stooges Movie - Nov. 2009

I've been against this for years. Looks like MGM got the rights from Warner Bros.

Seriously. I really can't believe this is being made.

It won't do well. You cannot imitate what was once original and magical.

Same thing applies to The Honeymooners where the movie plummeted and didn't do justice. Heck it's forgotten lol

From the article:
Filmmakers Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly, most recently in theaters with a remake of "The Heartbreak Kid,"
Didn't learn your lesson from that tank, did ya?

The Farrellys' screenplay -- described by the filmmakers as "slapstick with heart" -- breaks the feature into four 20-minute shorts, in an approximation of the vaudeville and slapstick pioneers' most common format in the 1920s and '30s. The first episode establishes the bruising, boisterous brothers as 7-year-old castoffs who terrorize the nun-run orphanage that takes them in. Eventually forced to leave, Moe (the hostile leader), Larry (the jokey sidekick) and Curly (the childlike dimwit) try to find a place for themselves in a modern world.
As much as I try not to use internet-speak....EPIC FAIL. NO BUYS.

Yay!! Scatalogical humor, gross-out jokes, misanthropic degradation and late 60s/early 70s bubblegum pop songs set in the 1930s! w00t!!

You know....nobody fucks with The Tramp, among other personalities in comedy history, and the Stooges are included. They were unique and original for what they were. And to have somebody....make a Stooges film, without...THE STOOGES...kinda you know, kills itself.

Well if they are going to make it, I hope they stick true to the Stooges & don't try to tone down the slapping, eyepokes, tools to the head, etc. I want Curly to get slapped across the face for the slightest annoyance to Moe.

Perhaps they'll finally address Moe's "Small Man Syndrome".

Who is this for? I can't see young people buying the old-fashioned concept and fans of the original consider it a travesty.

Re: MGM Pumps New Blood in to Farrelly Bros. Three Stooges Movie - Nov. 2009

Apparently Sean Penn and Johnny Depp are now interested in the roles.
