Movies you are surprised they havn't remade (Yet!)

For me these are titles I am kinda surprised the studio system has not yet gotten their hands on in hopes to remake.:

Near Dark
Alien
City of Lost Children

Hate to break it to you, but they are developing a remake of Near Dark.

I know it's Spielberg's baby, but I'm surprised Universal hasn't aggressively pursued remaking Jaws.

Fright Night has been very close to being remade for a while now. I wouldn't be surpirsed to see it announced within the next year.

Re-Animator is another one that, though it hasn't been talked about (publicly, at least), its got enough of a cult name to it that I'm sure it's a very good possibility.

Night of the Creeps was remade. Didn't you see Slither? ;)

Wait Until Dark

-Seems like this could be done pretty well.

Oh, I did, but while Slither was nothing short of awesome, it didn't have Tom Atkins sighing, "thrill me."

I keep hearing that Last House on the Left is going to be remade but never get any concrete info or sources. I think this could work with the right people involved.

There's a little horror flick called "Aswang" that was notorious enough when it was released but had such a small budget and so many limitations that I think a remake of this could really work and d justice to the rice folklore behind the titular creature.

That's already been shot and slated for early '09. IMDB isn't the most reliable site, but when it has a full cast and crew listed, that's a pretty good sign that the film is underway. :)

Having just watched it last night from Netflix, I'm surprised that no one has remade Ace in the Hole yet, considering the way the media has gotten more and more sensational and out of control.

Pete's Dragon. Always liked it as a kid. Make Elliot a CGI dragon so he actually fits into the scenes instead of being a cartoon in live action.
