Worst movie you ever saw in the theater?

I'm just wondering what the worst movie you saw in the theater, is? For me, from what I can remember, it has to be:

Treasure of the Four Crowns (1983)

This gem was presented in 3D, and it REALLY sucked a lot of rotten ass. I think it's the worst of the worst I ever saw in the theater, although, I could be wrong. I saw a LOT of turkeys in the early to mid 80's. Maybe some folks can remind me of other bombs. A couple that spring to mind as unwatchable back then, but may be better now:

Night of the Comet (I fell asleep during this one)
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai
Black Moon Rising
American Ninja
The Love Guru

I wonder if there are any fairly recent movies, this bad, nowadays, notwithstanding DTV. There was obviously no direct-to-video, back when these came out, so I think studios just had to roll the dice, even if they knew they had a stinker on their hands.

I was dragged to Dana Carvey's Master of Disguise... which was really sad, since I always liked him better than Myers in SNL.

Either Men in Black II or Attack of the Clones.

Probably Double Dragon. I was about 10 and my best friend's parents dropped us off at the cheap theatre to see it.

Or, the only two movies I've ever walked out of in a theatre...
Black Dog
Austin Powers 2

Well, I walked out of The Crow 2 and that's the only film I've ever walked out on.

Worst film I've sat through would have to be Juno.

Love Guru

Good lord, this movie stink! I actually like Mike Myers, but this was absolutely, horrifically - DREADFUL.

I think Renny Harlin's Exorcist prequel. The Order was also pretty awful.

Failure to Launch (dragged kicking & screaming by date)
Short Circuit (ditto)
Boxing Helena
Tango & Cash (excruciating dialoge)
The Happening

I actually enjoyed Treasure of the Four Crowns and Battlefield Earth (in the theatre)...

The Grinch. I think it's the only movie that I got up and left.

A month-or-so later, I went back (gave it another chance ... what I say ... I love movies). Fell asleep fifteen minutes in and woke up five minutes before the end. It's just not an enjoyable movie for me. And the movie itself is so peculiar that it's not really too easy to sit and watch. That is, to say, if it were more 'normal' (or "Ron Howard" hehe ... I think that's an adjective), I probably would have watched it (even though I wouldn't have liked it anyways). I guess I could describe it as 'frustratingly unwatchable'.

Ellen Degeneres Mr. Perfect. The only movie that I ever walked out of the theatre. I still have nightmares about it.

The second worst movie has to be Batman and Robin.

Actually, most of the time I don't like a movie I'm merely indifferent to it.

Until this year - I saw The Happening.

By far the worst movie I've seen in a theater as far back as I can remember.

PS - I'm not saying that to be a trendy Shyamalan hater. I liked The Village and even enjoyed Lady In The Water as flawed as it was. I wanted The Happening to be good.

Sir, why do you hate great movies?

When I was a kid, Tango and Cash was 'the shit'. I watched it a year-or-so ago and found it very enjoyable, in it's own way. At heart, it's a bad movie. It was like a larger-budget movie, with a straight-to-video script (if there was one); kind of like Bad Boys (the Michael Bay one, duh). But it's still alot of fun.

Superb back-and-forth funnies from Stallone and Russel. Clint Howard as "Slinkey". Brion James, Jack Palance, Michael Jeter, Robert Z'Dar. They don't do it like that much. Con-Air did it. But that was, what, ten years ago?

Ha. I saw Cuthroat Island. I even enjoyed it. Has anything "beat" Cuthroat Island yet? Do I win something?

The worst I ever saw in a theater is also the only one I ever walked out on; Revenge of the Nerds II.

However, I can defend my lack of taste by stating that it was a $1 theater, I was only a sophomore in high school, and the girl I was dating at the time and I were bored out of our minds.

The only more recent film that left me feeling like I had completely wasted my admission money was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Now expand the question to rentals (where I see 95% of films for the first time) and I can conjure up a huge list of potentials. The Mist from just the other day would certainly make the list.

Dynamite Chicken and City of the Walking Dead are up near the top of the list, but they were low budget and not supposed to be good.

#1 will forever be reserved for Toys. To this day, I carry around a beaker of acid 24/7 in the hope that I will meet Robin Williams and throw it in his fucking hairy fucking face.
