Movies that felt dated as soon as they were released
What are some movies that strangely felt dated as soon as they came out? I've heard people talk about this before, but can't remember which movies.

This is going to sound silly, but I remember Rambo III feeling dated because the Afghanistan war had just ended.
Not exactly the same thing, but I remember Full Metal Jacket seemed a little late to the theaters which is why some weren't interested in seeing it. I love Stanley Kubrick, but it was unfortunate timing that it had to follow Platoon instead of being released first.

I never understand why people are worried about "dated" films. Generally, you have to look at a film as it pertains to its era. Sure, some stories are immortal, but so many flicks are just good and are a reflection of their eras. If you make a film hip to today's standards, it's going to be dated in the next 10 years. So, what kind of sense does using dated in a negative sense make? If you only appreciate something for the now, it's going to die off pretty quickly.
