Which one these would you consider the best of the Dracula adapted movies?

I really like the 1931 version, but to be honest it's probably 3rd place. I think the Herzog version (1979) is wonderful and Nosferatu from 1922 is very creepy. Horror of Dracula was decent but I've never really gotten the allure of the Hammer films.

Love at First Bite

Count Dracula (1977) with Louis Jordan as the Count.

Never see the Herzog, and find Lugosi's version an overrated snooze. So 1922 Nosferatu for me -- in terms of the scariness of the vampire, Max Schreck for the win. And it's short.

And I'll put in a word for Interview With A Vampire, which I've always thought was rather UNDERrated.

I don't think I have seen any of the hammer films dracula movies.

My first thought was Fright Night but I don't think that guy was Dracula. I'm not sure what the movie was called but there was a movie with Dracula controlling Frankenstein. That was pretty good.

hmmm oh wait. I'll go with Vampire Hunter D. Dracula isn't in it but he plays a part in it.

Nosferatu '79. I really enjoy that movie, especially its sense of atmosphere and humor.

My favorite is the 1931 Spanish version.

I thought that Herzog was mostly dull, with a handful of truly great scenes. In the 1931 English version, Lugosi is very good, but the camera is static and most of the cast is bad. The Horror of Dracula is by the numbers, but a lot of fun. I like the athleticism of Christopher Lee. It's been too long since I've seen Nosferatu 1922, and I've never seen 1979 or 1992.

I think I'll watch Nosferatu tonight. :)

Dracula '92 for me.

This is easily my favorite vampire movie. But the poll is asking for Best Dracula Movie so I went with Coppala's version. IMO, the most complete Dracula movie.

No Blackula? Worst poll ever.

Seriously though, I love almost all the Hammer Dracula's and the original Universal (along with the Spanish version). But the original is still the best and Christopher Lee is the best Dracula.

I haven't seen Coppala's version in years (I saw it when I was 13 or so and that is 13 years ago), but I told it is good and Tom Waits is in it.

'92 is my favorite Dracula-specific film.

Fright Night is my favorite vampire movie.

Nosferatu, Eine Symphonie des Garuens (1922)

Even among Hammer fans, this one often is not thought that highly of---but I love this one. Great atmosphere, pacing and action, it's one of my favorite Hammers.

Other than that, I enjoy the 1922, the '31 and the '92 version pretty equally.

Murnau's Nosferatu all the way, though I am a big fan of Herzog's remake as well.

I voted for the 1931 version primarily for Bela Lugosi's performance which defined vampire behavior for all time.

I do love the silent version though, and I am happy to see it's currently running 2nd in the poll.

This gets my vote.

Lugosi is Dracula. Everything else is compared to it...thats why the Reeses Vampire "Likes to eat the Peanut Butter First" and Even Elliot in E.T. does his best to do the voice.

I also think Blacula should have been on the poll.

"Adapted" as in closest to the book? Either Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) -or- Count Dracula (1977 BBC TV movie)
