Dracula 2000, seriously. *ducks* It's when I discovered Gerard Butler.

I love Nosferatu '22 and '79 but my vote has to go to Horror of Dracula... best Hammer film, ever.

You beat me to it - agreed, it's much more atmospheric (even though it used the same sets) than the English version.

Although I don't think it's better, I agree that a little bit of risque goes a long way. I really enjoyed the Spanish version as well.

Just watched this for the first time the other day - and it's definitely superior to the American film technically. The closeups and gliding camerawork are most impressive, while Browning's direction is pretty flat and static in comparison.

I praise this film to anyone who will listen. I wouldn't say it's the best Dracula film ever, but it's not bad by any means. It's the one Dracula-based film that for me gives a plausible explanation as to how vampires came into existence.

My second is an unpopular choice, Dracula '79, and third is the English version of Dracula '31.

I liked that one too and wonder what the poll results would be if it was just Dracula performances.

If you had to pin me down, Horror of Dracula is my choice, but Nosferatu '22 and Dracula '31 are also favorites.

This one really needs to come back in print. The only one I don't have!
