Favorite box office champion: 2000s edition

Here are the nine box office champions for 2000-2008. Out of those, which did you like the most?

And, out of curiosity, what do you think will do best in 2009? My guess is the Transformers sequel.

OldBoy 09-29-08 07:27 PM

maybe we could have a separate forum now for just POLLS!

islandclaws 09-29-08 07:32 PM

LotR: RotK is probably the one I enjoy the most.

darkhawk 09-29-08 07:53 PM

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

Mondo Kane 09-29-08 08:12 PM

If "Fellowship" was in the poll, I wouldn't have picked Dark Knight.

fumanstan 09-29-08 08:12 PM

Dark Knight. Didn't care that much for the LOTR movies. Spidey and Pirates would probably be next on the list.

NoirFan 09-29-08 09:05 PM

I've only seen four of these, but The Dark Knight was the only one I was impressed by.

McHawkson 09-29-08 09:34 PM

Haven't seen Dark Knight yet. Except for Dark Knight, Harry Potter and Spider-man is probably my favorite and rest of them are wayyy bottom.

project86 09-29-08 10:09 PM

The Grinch???

dan30oly 09-29-08 10:54 PM

I can't believe I'm the first vote for Spider-Man.

I enjoyed The Dark Knight, but think it gets much more praise than it deserves.

cranberries fan 09-30-08 12:11 AM

I pick ESP-III just because those saber battle are bad-ass and I love it.
But second pick would be all of The Lord of the Rings films not just one!

Palaver 09-30-08 08:05 AM

Gotta go with the Dark Knight.

RichC2 09-30-08 08:56 AM

TDK with RotK in close second. The others on that list are pretty terrible (it sucks the only good Spider-man didn't make the list.)

lordwow 09-30-08 09:59 AM

TDK followed by ROTK

Charlie Goose 09-30-08 10:09 AM

There are only 2 movies on that list that I would consider, and TDK beats Spiderman.

Goat3001 09-30-08 10:18 AM

I went TDK eventhough this year isn't over yet and who knows how well Max Payne will do. ;)

Did Shrek 2 really outgross Spidey 2?

Giles 09-30-08 10:23 AM

of the one's listed: Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, but personally 'Two Towers' (Extended Edition) is the best IMO.

GradVT06 09-30-08 10:40 AM

Given my test of "If all these were on TV right now and I could only watch one", I'd go with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I had never even read any of the books or seen any of the movies until this summer, when ABC Family had a marathon of the movies July 4th weekend and it rained here the whole time. I thoroughly enjoyed the movies and liked the first two the best and I'm now going back and actually reading the books. Although coming in close would be The Dark Knight. Close after that would be Pirates of the Caribean: Curse of the Black Pearl if it was a choice- I liked it much better than either of the sequels, and Batman Begins if they were listed.

TheNightFlier 09-30-08 10:45 AM

The Dark Knight.

Michael Corvin 09-30-08 10:48 AM

I want to say ROTK but the 12 endings left a really bad taste in my mouth so I went with TDK.

Cardsfan111 09-30-08 10:52 AM

The Dark Knight for me.

bunkaroo 09-30-08 11:07 AM

Dark Knight was awesome, but I don't think anything can ever top the conclusion to the Lord Of The Rings - it was such an emotional crescendo.

Kicker_of_Elves 09-30-08 11:17 AM

The Dark Knight

FantasticVSDoom 09-30-08 11:27 AM

Had to go with TDK, as the others werent really movies I cared for (except for the HP movie).

sauce07 09-30-08 01:31 PM

Dark Knight, not just because it is the most recent movie in my mind, it kicked ass.
