Greensboro Cinema Evacuated After Shooting
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – Police evacuated The Grand 18 Four Seasons Station cinemas Friday just after 9 p.m. after a shooting.

According to police, a gun went off in a theater hallway. The person shot has been taken to a nearby hospital, but no information on the victim's condition is available.

About 700 people were in the cinema complex at the time of the shooting.

A Greensboro police officer told FOX8 News that actor Jamal Woolard, the star of "Notorious" a film about the life and death of rapper Christopher 'Biggie' Wallace, was at the theatre. According to the officer, Woolard left shortly after the shooting.

The movie premiered Friday nationwide and is being shown on multiple screens at The Grand 18 Four Seasons Station, as well as other theaters across the Piedmont.

Police said they do not know if there is a connection between the film and shooting.

LOL easy money if you were in Vegas. I saw this movie last night, and there was a police officer standing outside the theater doors. Aside from laughing at the movie, the almost sold out audience was very quiet. I guess they took the po-lice's threat about being kicked out serious

How long until someone suggests that a police officer being posted outside of all urban-marketed/audience films/theaters to keep things civil and quiet during movies, and then someone else immediately stating that the original suggestion is racist?

So 'Puffy' figured out a way to make even more money off a dead guy.

Nothing new here.

You've got to be shitting me -- 4 people stabbed in NYC! From Yahoo:

NEW YORK – Police say four men were stabbed at a New York City nightclub advertising the "official" after-party for the film premiere of "Notorious" about rapper Biggie Smalls.

Police said Saturday a 21-year-old victim stabbed numerous times was in critical condition at Brookdale Hospital. Three other who were stabbed were in stable condition.

The Djumbala club is in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn about three miles from the slain rapper's home. Police did not immediately release further information.

Smalls was born Christopher Wallace and also used the stage name "Notorious B.I.G."

His debut CD, 1994's "Ready to Die," helped re-energize the East Coast rap scene. He was killed in Los Angeles in 1997.

Is anyone shocked that a biopic about an obese, misogynistic, ex crack dealer, turned rapper, who died at the hand of gang violence would have violent fans?

Excellent movie... Regardless of any negativity that happened at theaters around the country, this movie was a good, seemingly accurate portrayal of a rap icon, in this fan's perspective. I personally couldn't ask for a biopic any better, and I anxiously await the film's arrival on Blu-ray.

I might rent this when it comes to DVD, but I'm afraid if I do someone will break into my home and shoot or stab me while I'm watching it.
