Future Razzie Award candidate: "Blood Brothers" - Owen Wilson vampire buddy comedy

From Bloody-Disgusting:
Spyglass Entertainment is prepping a new horror-comedy after the good buzz surrounding their latest effort, GHOST TOWN, which hits theaters tomorrow. Entitled Blood Brothers, the film is set to star Owen Wilson in a buddy comedy involving a man and a vampire.

I have an idea. Let's be negative and bash the film!

This sounds bad? No, no, not at all. Not until you've heard the plot of Tooth Fairy, next summer's Dwayne Johnson high-concept fantasy family comedy.

The film centers on Derek Thompson (Johnson), a minor-league hockey player whose nickname is the Tooth Fairy because of his ability to knock out opposing players' teeth. When he discourages a youngster's hope*, Derek is ordered to one week's hard labor as a real tooth fairy, complete with wings, magic wand and frilly tutu. Along the way, he rediscovers his forgotten dreams.
Does an Owen Wilson buddy vampire comedy sound bad now?

* - IMDb plot synopsis says that apparently he tells a six-year-old the tooth fairy isn't real. Kids these days.

Shall this become Rocky's "The Nanny"?

More and more it seems like he's going down the Hogan road in Hollywood, and he's way too good to end up there.

Mr. Nanny is already superior to this. At least if you watch The Rundown you can see this guy has charisma, which Hogan doesn't entirely have.

In fairness to all these movies, there are a lot of good movies that have horrible sounding plots:

Through a series of freak occurrences, a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying.
Five Vermont state troopers, avid pranksters with a knack for screwing up, try to save their jobs and out-do the local police department by solving a crime.
Three middle aged friends try to relive thier college glory days by starting a fraternity.
Those are all pretty well liked movies.

It's an Owen Wilson vampire comedy from the production company that brought us The Love Guru, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, 27 Dresses, Evan Almighty, The Pacifier, and Shanghai Nights. What's not to bash? Take a look Spyglass Entertainment's production history - other than The Sixth Sense, The Insider, and Sea Biscuit, that's a pretty extensive list of dreck.

Nooooo, I would never do that.

Ok, yes, I was being sarcastic initially. Just wanted to see if I could drag it out a little longer, heh.

I always thought those were pretty solid loglines with tons of potential.

But come on, the one about the tooth fairy, nothing good can come from that.
