Movies with two stars you're torn about
So what if there is a movie that has two starring roles and one is a star you like quite a bit and the other one is one you can't stand? And the one you like quite a bit you are willing to check out just about anything they do and the one you can't stand you swore you'd never watch their movies?
For me, I usually avoid the movie if the actor I don't like has a prominent role. The one I made an exception for was Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, because I swore I'd never watch a Julia Roberts movie but she only had a small role in it, so it was tolerable. But if the actor I don't like has a bigger role, I will avoid seeing it for as long as possible. Sad to say, but the crappy actor often ruins an otherwise good movie for me.
Recent example: Baby Mama. I like Tina Fey quite a bit, but oh man, I just can't bring myself to put in a movie with Amy Poehler (or however you spell her name.) And the two clips in the trailer of her going "Whoop Whoop" on that ball and her squatting in the sink does NOT help at all. I am told the movie is actually quite funny, and pretty good but I can't bring myself to watch it.

Primal Fear, one of only two Richard Gere movies I've seen and enjoyed (the other being Days of Heaven, my love coming from Malick's groundbreaking visual feast), because of Edward Norton's awesome scene-killer of a performance.

Not exactly what you're asking but one of my favorite directors is Paul Thomas Anderson and really hate Adam Sandler. It took me 6 years to finally bring myself to watch Punch Drunk Love. I also really like Emily Watson so that helped.

Closer and Chicago are the 2 i can think of at the present moment. I.E i can't stand either Julia Roberts or Richard Gere, but due to the rave reviews of both, i saw both in theaters (and being the youngest person there at both showings by at least 20 years was amusing), and loved both.

HUGE Harrison Ford Nut - I'll watch ANYTHING he's in. Even Hollywood Homicide which co-starred Josh Hartnett - the most empty, vapid, lifeless, unappealling, boring, tired, vaucous excuse for an "actor" I can imagine.

I don't really hate any actors enough to avoid a movie that otherwise looks enjoyable.
Kind of sucks for you guys .

I hate Reese Witherspoon but like Vince Vaughn so I'm torn between seeing the upcoming Four Christmases. She ruined Walk the Line for me. That was another one that applies as well. I really like Phoenix but Witherspoon was torturous to watch in that film. Does she only know how to play a bitching c*nt?!

Yeah, I don't really hate anyone enough to flat out avoid seeing something I would otherwise like.
However, I was less interested in A Prairie Home Companion because of Lindsay Lohan, and Mr. Brooks because of Dane Cook.
