King Shot (Jodorowsky, 2009)

The film's official site is empty....so far. But check out this cast!

From IMDB:

Asia Argento
Nick Nolte
Marilyn Manson
Udo Kier

Eclectic, no?

This brief blurb was from The Hollywood Reporter, back in May:

In a separate development, Lynch's Absurda production company has attached Asia Argento and Udo Kier to star with Nick Nolte in Alejandro Jodorowsky's metaphysical gangster movie "King Shot."

I'm assuming that this film is in Development Hell.

Well the website was only put up a couple of months ago, so perhaps this will see the light of day. If it still says "coming soon" by the time we hit Halloween, then I'll be bummin'.

Okay, now I'm really excited.

The peen is pointy. I really hope this pans out, I would watch Jodorowsky work on a book report.

I'm looking forward to this! Let's hope it will pull through before another decade pass by.

Jodorowsky talks about the film:

Whaddaya know, the site is no longer active at all! Also, troubling news from this Criterion Forum thread:

According to this very interesting interview in French (http://www.ecranlarge.com/article-details-10273.php), the film is postponed until next year because of the economic crisis. Moreover, Asia Argento, due to the fact that she's pregnant again, will not be part of the movie. This decision is not definitive yet but it is rather sure.

I don't think we will ever seen another Jodorowsky film again.

Thank Christ Asia is out if this does in fact get made. I don't find her all that attractive and she sucks at acting.

Also, I doubt this will ever get made. That sucks.

It’s been a long, long time coming and while it’s not yet here we finally have some firm news on Alejandro Jodorowsky’s long rumored King Shot. Despite having Marilyn Manson and Nick Nolte on board to star - and both of them putting up some of their own money for the production - the film remained stalled for several years until David Lynch’s Absurda came on board as a production outfit - they’re also doing a film with Werner Herzog - a little while back. And now? Cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond appeared on Chicago’s WGN Radio recently to promote an unrelated project and spilled to a caller that he expects to be shooting King Shot from May to July of this year. So take heart, cult film fans, the cultiest of them all is coming back.

Looks like shooting will (hopefully) begin in October.
