Also, you have to realize that going into a movie, the actor has little more than the script to go on before they agree to a project. What may start out as a decent script could get utterly destroyed by an incompetent director, script changes, studio demands, etc. I doubt many actors go into a film thinking, "This sucks and will hurt my career, but I'll do it anyway".

Forrest Whitaker will win another Oscar. He's a great actor.

How bout just nominations, Randy Quaid busted onto the scene with a nomination for the Last Detail. He didn't really shine after that, for awards at least, besides the TV movie Elvis.

I wonder if he brings up his Nom to brother Dennis a lot?

Although he did star in the vastly underrated dark comedy Parents in 1989.
