He doesn't sound like he's impersonating anyone, he sounds like Bruce Wayne. He's not speaking as "The Batman" when he says that. I thought that was obvious but with all the hearing issues people are having with dialogue in this film I guess everything is up for grabs.

Simple solution is to freeze-frame it and look:

I think people tend to let their theories get in the way a bit too much because it becomes what they expect rather than keep an open mind.

That is most certainly Christian Bale.

I forgot what those album suite tracks were called a long time ago. I know that one as its real title, "A Dark Knight". :D

However, in this case it's not from "The Dark Knight", that's actually the Bat Cave cue from "Batman Begins", and was used verbatim in the Joker IMAX prologue.

yes, it's obvious it's Bale but people are really going nuts for Blake donning the Cape and Cowl. As far as I've seen. There's nothing to hold that JGL wears the suit yet. All shots w/ suit in frame...I see Bale.

Agreed. I don't see how anyone could think it wasn't Bale. They both have very distinctive faces. It would be even more obvious with them crammed into the cowl. I'm hoping that Nolan is just screwing with the audience and Blake never even gets near the costume.

I want the poster of Bats on the cop car.

if they tweaked Batman and Bane better in #2 and #3 they'd be great. Otherwise...still pretty cool.

The follow up to that scene seems to be when Batman tackles the guy with the machine gun firing into that tunnel in the final trailer.

The gunfire is probably what's lighting up the area.

It's over 3 hours long?!

https://twitter.com/#%21/Roger_Nall

That's gotta be bullshit, right? I wanna see this but TDK felt bloated in parts. I'm not excited about TDKR being 3 hour longs (let alone exceeding 3 hours).

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I didn't see anything there other than 'editorial' and 'current cut' and nothing about the total length.

That being said, I'm all in considering this is Nolan's swan song to Batman. The longer the better as far as I'm concerned. Bring. It. On. :)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

His original TDK cut was 15 minutes longer than what we saw, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was allowed more time this time around.

He deleted the Tweet:

To sum up the last thread for those a bit lost:

-Roger Nall tweeted that his wife works on TDKR and saw the movie today. He tweeted it was 3 hours+ long. He deleted the tweet.

-It was discovered that his wife is a dialect coach (Francie Brown). He tweeted before that she was on an airplane with some of the cast and landed in Pittsburgh. He also tweeted that she worked with Marion Cotillard on TDKR.

-On a webpage it says that she is brought in to review a final cut of the film, "I very often will review the finished cut and look for places where there are slips, so that he can ADR [automated dialogue replacement] those slips

So she is legit and it all seems to add up to truth. Epic 3 hour Batman movie here we come!

In regards to the tweet, I don't doubt she's legit, but I am doubting the 3-hour+ running time. But who knows, we'll all find out within a month or so once showtimes come online.

Okay, in the newest trailer @ 1:27 - that's JGL in the mask.

It's him. The other shot where I thought it was him was that "in flames" shot, but that's Bale and it would have been too obvious. That side turn @ 1:27 makes a perfect trap set up against Bane. I don't think Bane knows it's not Bruce Wayne as he's confidently walking up to him.

RocShemp 05-25-12 08:45 PM

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

If the theory is correct, then 1:14 is Catwoman after she's witnessed Blakeman's death at the hands of Bane.

However, 1:16 shows Bane attacking Blake (the latter has his hands up) and knocking him down some broken area. I'm guessing that's the followup to the shot of Blake with his hands up and closing his eyes. So perhaps Bane beats up and kills Blake there.

But, in all honesty, I think the 1:27 and 1:14 shots are from Batman's first fight with Bane. That's why later Selina is telling Blake that she's not sure if Bane killed Batman. And, since we know Bane breaks Batman's mask, Selina gets to see Bruce is Batman. Her scene with Blake suggests they are allied somehow which means Blake also knows Bruce Wayne is Batman.
