Connelly Body Double in "Requiem.."?
 

Did Connelly use a body double for the infamous end scene with the double dildo? I'd assume she did, but on the other hand she's done lots of nude scenes, and I read this:

"Ultimately, Connelly's character performs in a brutal sex show for the entertainment of leering businessmen in exchange for drugs -- a scene difficult to watch, but much more so to play. "There was no sex, of course. but there was ... interaction," Aronofsky says. "All professional, but unbelievably emotional and intense. We don't really talk about what went on that night."

I assume she used a double. Nudity and simulated sex is quite different from sticking a dildo up your privates.

A close examination of the relevant bits will show quite clearly the the sex scenes are simulated, I have done a thorough examination, with my partner, as a potential project for own media studies, "analyse a scene from the final cut and see how it was put together" We didn't proceed with this topic, too disquietening. The sex is simulated, not even close to reality when viewed up close, and there are clear indications that Jennifer Connelly wasn't even involved in much of it. What the internet has has turned it into, is obscene.

Body double or not, a close examination of the "sex" shots will show that its simulated, faked, all of it, with the rapid cuts blurring the whole thing into a semblance of reality. For a start Connelly isnt even on stage during the 2 long distance overhead shots, and there are the 4 girls in the credits doing that bit. For the rest, no connection between her face and any other part. She took part, obviously, after, in her own words, a period of negotiation and reaching an agreement with the director regarding the level of her participation. One of her great skills in acting is her a ability to display such convincing emotion in her facial expression and she sure achieved that here. Harrowing to watch, must have been so difficult to participate in. Courageous at any level.

Jennifer Connelly prior to 2000 was so fine. She started to look like a skeleton after that.

:lol: When I first saw the film nearly 20 years ago (!) I was never under any illusion that Ms. Connelly actually had anything inserted into her hooha during the filming of that scene.

Very true. In the early to mid 90's I thought she was an absolute goddess. Then she apparently stopped eating. :sad:

Close examination was freeze frame and stepping forward and then saying BULLSHIT out loud several times. Never saw the film until 2008, by that time the internet was awash with claims about what went on. People desperate to believe.
