Clint Eastwood's "Changeling"

Like Che, this was discussed in the Cannes thread, but I figured with a Halloween release date, this probably deserved it's own thread.
Here is a brief clip from the film.

Here are a selection of reviews, taken from GreenVulture's extremely helpful Cannes thread:

Sounds good. I'm kind of used to Clint Eastwood's movies at this point. I don't need to see the trailer to understand what it'll be like.

I can't think of a whole lot of movies that Clint Eastwood has directed that I didn't like not named Space Cowboys. So I'll check this out. I'll probably wait for the DVD though.

I love this plot description.
Spoiler:
Judging by that short clip, it takes her all of about a fraction of a second to suspect he's not her son.

Eastwood is a dependably solid craftsman, and the buzz is that Jolie actually turns in something resembling a performance. I'm always a sucker for political conspiracy films, particularly ones based on true stories, so I'm in.

That was a classic compare to The Rookie.

Anyway, Clint is my favorite actor of all time, and most of his directorial efforts have been pretty good. Angelina Jolie makes me yawn and fart simultaneously, but I'll still give this a try.

A must just for Eastwood's involvement. The man is a true legend, really, and one of the most respectable ones out there. To boot I love cop movies/corruption stuff.

The film overall got great Oscar Buzz at Cannes for Best Picture, Best Actress, and various supporting actors. In various Oscar Buzz websites, many are predicting Jolie to win the Oscar, because of her snub for last year's A Mighty Heart and the strong reviews from Cannes. Anyways, here are some pictures from the film:

I figure J. Michael Straczynski wrote it, so I have hope. (Also hoping this turns out better than his run on SPIDER-MAN.)

Here are some possible spoilers about the film's plot...
Spoiler:
The film is based on the true events of the killings of serial killer Gordon Northcott (pictured below) in the 1920s Los Angeles. Jolie plays the real life Christine Collins (pictured below), who battled against the corrupt law system, who accuses her of being crazy for claiming her son was not hers.

Have you not seen award winning/critically acclaimed performances in films such as A Mighty Heart, Gia, George Wallace, Playing By Heart, The Good Shepherd, Girl Interrupted, Hackers, or The Fever? She's great when given a great role and director. You can't judge her acting based on her one dimensional action characters.

I'm not, I'm judging her by all the shitty movies she's done. Movies like A Mighty Heart, Gia, George Wallace, Playing By Heart, The Good Shepherd, Girl Interrupted, Hackers, and well everything she's done.

I'm not saying she's a bad actress, I'm saying she's never been in a good movie.

although very few popular actresses are.

It's your opinion that those are "shitty" movies, meaning not everyone will agree with you. Girl Interrupted is one of my favourite films. I also loved Wanted, Kung Fu Panda, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, just to name a few.

Clint has been on a roll these past years. I expect he keeps up steam with Changeling.

I just finished up the screenplay. Wow. I think this will be Eastwood's best film. Such a great script.

I was reading an interview with J. Michael Straczynski. He said he asked Eastwood if he wanted any changes to the script and Eastwood told him that the director's job was not to screw it up.

Hope we get a trailer soon.
