Lethal Weapon 5 (D: Mel Gibson)

According to Rotten Tomatoes

Word has it that the sobriety-challenged Mel Gibson has jumped aboard the production of "Lethal Weapon 5," which the actor-turned-director had, until recently (read: until the events of last week) not considered joining. But, since his Holocaust mini-series has been cancelled, Gibson's schedule has cleared up -- and it wouldn't hurt on the PR front to give fans another "Lethal Weapon."

In the (unlikely) event this does come to pass, I expect that Murtaugh won't have all of that "Free South Africa" stuff everywhere in his house, but Riggs will have ADL stickers everywhere.

Well, IF this movie comes to pass, I don't see it being anything but a desperate cry for help on Mel's part.

A balding Riggs and a geriatric Danny Glover? No thank you.

I think I'd rather have a sequel to National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon at this point.

Yeah, I think fans would more likely be interested in a new Mad Max film.

Still burns me how we were going to get a new Mad Max film. It was absolutely going to happen. Then a combination of George Lucas using all available locations in Australia for Episode II/the war in Iraq preventing filming elsewhere/and Gibson losing interest after becoming involved in Passion changed all of that.

Is this just so we can finally see Riggs die onscreen like he was supposed to in LW2?
