You'd think by now that Murtaugh's kids would be getting too old for this shit!

Part 3 felt like a series of deleted scenes joined together with no mystery as to who was the bad guy. I felt 4 was much improved over 3, and would agree it was a more fitting end to the series.

Nothing beats 2 however. 2 is one of those rare occurrences where the sequel far surpasses the original.

Disagree. LETHAL WEAPON 3 almost killed it. Number four (with all its faults) revived my interest and affection for the characters.

Why do I think this will have something to do with Rigg's kid? Or maybe a new Predator comes into town and Rigg's needs the expertise that Murtaugh had in dealing with it?

I hated it. The whole movie felt like it was being made up as they go(which it was as Donner admits on the commentary). And the last 10 minutes seemed right out of Father of the Bride Part II.

That being said, the decline began in Legal Wreckin 3. I still enjoyed that movie, but there was a huge dropoff from the 1st and 2nd ones. Plus it had the worst villain by far.

I could only sit through half of 3, and to be honest I didn't even know there was a 4. Zero interest in seeing 5.

Did anyone not remember in Lethal Weapon 1, Murtaugh was celebrating his 50th B-Day? If Lethal Weapon took place circa 1986-1987, Murtaugh would be 70-something in the next film, if it gets made.

I actually liked Lethal Weapon 4. Jet Li was great and I thought it was funny showing that Riggs and Murtaugh were aging.

Bullshit!! Lethal Weapon 4 was one of the biggest films that came out back in 1998. Unless you were out of the country and hibernating in a cave.

It was only the 12th highest domestic grosser in 1998. That's not very good considering what it cost to make.

3 stunk, 4 was better.
2 was still the best. Nice boobies.

The scene in #4 that was cringe-inducing was the dentist scene when they were all hopped up on laughing gas. You could tell they pulled that scene out of their asses, and it showed.

Please. No Joe Pesci. No Chris Rock.

I guess you HAVE to have Rene Russo back, though.

No kidding... According to IMDB the actress who played Glover's daughter in the series (kidnapped in the first one) is 47 now!

I liked all of the movies in this series, especially 4, but 2 was my least favorite.

4 was good because of the action sequences, the beginning was solid and the conclusion where they don't really have to fight the bad guy, but they say 'fuck it' and go for it, anyway.

Oh, and in response to the original post...hell yeah.

Bring on 5 so we can have an excuse to release the whole series on Blu-Ray.

Your baby is having my baby.

Ah, sorry, the line still cracks me up.

But I didn't like part 4, mainly b/c I'm not a fan of Jet Li - yeah, that's right. edit: not a fan of Chris Rock either.

Hollywood has no shame at all so this movie will happen.

Boooo!!!! Jet Li was probably one of the highlights especially since it was his U.S. studio debut and he kicked the shit out of Gibson and Glover.

Either way, I'll see it, but honestly, make Riggs single (and crazy) again.

However, Shane Black's presence seals the deal on this one.

Agreed. He almost ruined Shooter. I prayed that whatever his next line was did not involve any s's...

That would've been a good in-joke in 'Be Kind Rewind' had Jack Black and Mos Def's characters done 'Lethal Weapon!'
