There's an interview up at AICN that talks about the difference between this and the Tartovsky version (that I can't find now, but it was there the other day). The original was done as a sort of proof of concept, to show that there was interest in the time period and that stories could be told. However, it won't be as "hyper-stylized", like Mace Windu taking out a hundred Battle Droids at once. It will be far more in line with the movies. They also discuss the animation style, and how they specifically didn't want it photo-realistic so it would stand out from the later live action series that's still in the works.

Well, this is basically the first four episodes of the series that will air on Cartoon Network and TNT. I went to the panel for this last year at Celebration IV, and the creators said they were planning to make like 100+ episodes. And yeah, I'll be seeing it since I'm still a Star Wars nut.

I don't see the point myself.
The plot and character development was covered in the other 3 (incredibly dull) prequels. This is purely an in-between episode that we more or less know the turn out of... And it doesn't seem that interesting of a story. I'm having a tough time drumming up interest for it.

Also, we know how WW 2 turns out, why do we keep watching movies from that era?

well, we shall see very soon. It's still Star Wars, and as the release date approaches I'm sure more and more fans will just say 'Fuck it' and give in. I think it has potential to be a hit, and will most certainly make more than the X-Files film. what's the budget on this thing?

I will end up seeing it in the theater, no way I am paying 9+ dollars though. I will more and likely see it once it comes to one of the 3 dollar theaters here in town where you can at least order beer while you're watching it.

I am a huge SW fan, but I am not going to see this and this really has nothing to do with Lucas & the PT being a total letdown, I am just not interested in seeing a 1 hour 45 minute cartoon movie. Plus, I could really care less about more Clone War stories. In saying that, I still think it will do pretty well at the Box Office, cause it seems like it is geared for kids, and they will show up. But I don't think it will do huge Box Office because the OT fanbase like myself really doesn't care, as I don't know anyone my age who is interested, and we saw ALL 3 Prequels in the theaters.

Because watching movies in front of a goddamn monitor is for tools. I pity anyone who would actually watch something like The Dark Knight or Iron Man this way. Douchebags.

I'm not defending the spam post I'm just offering an alternative. I felt the same way.

I think it will be fun. I'm not sure if this actually is the first four episodes of the show, at the Star Wars panel at Comic Con they made it sound like this was an outgrowth of Lucas' enthusiasm for the TV show, but not necessarily material that will be in the show. I'll see it and watch the show when it airs.
