National Amusements chain, $5 B-movie double features on Thursdays starting 8/07/08
Couldn't find much information on their own site, or anywhere on the web, but National Amusements is once again having this promotion.
Called "Attack of the B-Movies", participating National Amusement theaters will be having a $5 double feature of old, mainly sci-fi, B-movies on Thursday nights at 1900 starting on August 7th.
The list of movies from the pretty cool poster included The Killer Shrews and Attack of the Giant Gila Monster.
Hopefully they aren't Fathom events.
They did this same promotion last October I believe. $5 to see two old sci-fi "classics" will be a great weekly diversion. The poster didn't mention how long it was going to last, just "each Thursday", and at least a dozen films were named on the poster.

Forgot to bump this before the first weekly event yesterday.
The Cinema Deluxe in Fairfax had a sparse crowd of a dozen or so for The Giant Gila Monster and The Killer Shrews double feature.
It was an ok presentation, film quality was fairly poor, not sure how it was presented, DVD, film, or streaming. Quality seemed worse than most 1950ish film DVDs, so maybe it was old film? Doesn't seem likely, but then, I know next to nothing about how film are projected nowadays.
Overall it was enjoyable. A couple of minor hiccups/slowdowns in the video, and strange to see no real preview but it just launched right into the first feature pretty much. A 7 or so minute intermission of vintage theater ads and concession promos was fun, but hopefully I won't see it each Thursday.
Anyone else see them last night?

Has anyone been able to confirm what format is being used for these shows, whether it's film, DVD or some other digital format? These shows look interesting, and play nearby, but I'd hate to spend the time and money for a projected DVD.

Here are some slightly better links, they finally got around to updating their website and maybe promoting this a bit more.
The locations are very limited unfortunately.
Here is the schedule.
Related, they are also having a "Quadruple Bypass" of four films on Halloween night for $12.
Picture quality isn't great, but not bad at all. Probably as good as any surviving prints of these old 50s and 60s films. I've been having an absolute blast at them each Thursday night.
