Just read that. Probably deserves its own thread.

Just got the Roeper Tweet that they are about to announce the new show. "richardroeper We're building a new balcony. "

It's on Roeper's blog.

He's leaving? Shit, first I've heard of this.

Great to hear it. I have continued to watch the show regularly since the cast change. I don't mind it, but I don't look forward to it every week like I did when Ebert and company were at the helm. These new guys are just too glib.

The two Bens are basically ludicrous - let's hope the Ebert & Friends can get an intelligent show back on the air.

Well, now apparently Ben & Ben are leaving "At the Movies" (Probably were fired. )

Starting with the Sept 5th episode, At The Movies will now be hosted by A.O. Scott and Michael Phillips.

I can start watching again. Lyons was terrible and Mankiewicz wasn't that great either. I think they should have just hired Scott & Phillips in the first place.

Sounds like a good pairing. They're both smart and witty critics whose opinions I tend to agree with. Scott is kind of low key so he needs a partner who can be loud and animated and Phillips should be able to fill that role from what I've seen of him with Roeper.
