Need help with movie Title ?
 

I need help in finding the title of a movie. This is what I can remember about the movie:

The black & white film is about a blind lady that is driven to the train station and I think is kidnapped. The cop, whose name is Bill or William, is in charge of security at the train station.

A lower rank police officer makes the mistake of calling Bill, Willie.

In one scene, one of the kidnappers is surrounded by the police and they rough him up, including, pretending to push/throw him in front of a moving train.

I think the blind lady drops her scarf on the tracks.

Any help with the movie title would greatly, be appreciated.

I've seen this movie a number of times and really enjoy it. Old Barry Fitzgerald is one of my favorite character actors.

He can be quite the ham though. His performance in Naked City really irritated me - the lovable Irish cop is a rather tiresome cliche. Surprise, he plays a cop in this one too. I had never heard of Union Station before, but it looks interesting. Mate was aces as a DP, and he directed several other noirs in his time, including the classic D.O.A. and The Dark Past, also with William Holden.
