Tough to omit Rififi, but I know that Marty is a sentimental favorite for quite a few people.

Night of the Hunter. One of Mitchum's best roles, and one of the best films to come out of the 50's IMO.

Damn good year.

Rebel Without a Cause -because James Dean is the man.

Other films from 1955 I enjoyed:

The Seven Year Itch
Rififi
The Man with the Golden Arm
Killer's Kiss

As far as I can tell, I've only seen Rebel Without A Cause, East Of Eden and Lady And The Tramp from this particular year, so I'm giving it to Rebel.

My favorite film of all time is "Rebel Without A Cause" , not just because it is a great film but because it started me being a fan of cinema instead of just your average summer blockbuster. It is also the film that when i was in high school I would watch with every girlfriend i had. If they didn't like it, that would usually mean we wouldn't last too long, and i was right everytime(at least thats what i thought then, but i was a idiotic teenage guy).
