Fight Club Vs Pulp Fiction

Both seemed to be the popular choices by far in my polls...so here they go head to head. Which one do you like better or think is the better movie?

I was going to vote "they both suck" just to irritate you, but sadly this is a public poll and I would have been caught.

It would have bothered somebody, and that's all that matters.

I've never seen Pulp Fiction, which made my choice that much easier.

Pulp Fiction.

Both are great. I think so many films have borrowed or been inspired by PF that it's diluted the original in may people's eyes. Some films have borrowed aspects of FC but it's much easier to do, or at least attempt, a PF knock off which is why their was a glut for a while.

Fight Club is very good for the first hour, then breaks down at a certain point and becomes a silly, incoherent mess. Pulp Fiction is an entertaining genre pastiche with a lot of witty dialogue that ultimately ends up being little more than an intellectual exercise in nonlinear filmmaking. I've seen both enough times that I get annoyed with each of them, but of the two I think Pulp Fiction is more entertaining throughout and the one I'd rather watch if given a choice.

FWIW I'd rather watch Reservoir Dogs or Se7en.

I like and own both, but I tend to think they are bit over-rated.

I love Pulp Fiction...but it is no Fight Club.

Flight Club is one of those deeply layered films with a great message (or statement) behind it. But the technical aspect of it as well is staggering. Where as Pulp Fiction just does not have that. I also feel Fincher is a better director than QT, but QT is a great writer, which scores some points.

And I also feel that Fight Club is closer to reality than Pulp Fiction. As in, I think a lot of people (males specifically) can relate to Fight Club on some level. Where as, how can you with Pulp Fiction?

Lastly, counts this for Fight Club, it does come from an original novel. Pulp Fiction, although a great story, is just that. The Fight Club novel does have some differences, but it is a great read and the film is a great companion piece.

I'd give it to Pulp Fiction, but I really do think both movies are fantastic. Pulp Fiction is just such a quotable, entertaining, well-written and well acted film that it gets the slight edge.

Fight Club is the better film, and my favorite of the two. Pulp Fiction is unquestionably the more influential, though.

Pulp Fiction -- if only because 99.999999% of the assholes who watch FIGHT CLUB completely miss the point of the movie and celebrate it as a living, breathing testament to iconoclastic phallic reclamation.

Present company excluded, natch.

While I think Pulp Fiction is a great movie (and always forget how much I like it until I'm actually watching it), Fight Club is my favorite movie of all-time.

So this was easy.

Bit of an exaggeration with that number, eh? I think there are a lot more people that watch/like/love it for exactly the right reasons.

So I'll say 65% miss the point. That's still over half!

well to be fair, i said 99.999999% of the assholes who watch it. Not the sensible, right-thinking people

True, true.

I reckon I can be quite an asshole sometimes, so I must be part of that 0.000001%.
