Yahoo users rank top 30 animated films of all time

Here's the list:

30. Bambi
29. Jungle Book
28. Sleeping Beauty
27. Over The Hedge
26. The Simpsons Movie
25. Ice Age II: The Meltdown
24. Ice Age
23. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
22. Howl's Moving Castle
21. Mulan
20. Peter Pan
19. Horton Hears A Who
18. Lady and the Tramp
17. The Nightmare Before Christmas
16. Princess Mononoke
15. Cinderella
14. The Little Mermaid
13. Enchanted
12. Shrek 2
11. Cars
10. Monsters, Inc.
9. Sprited Away
8. Aladdin
7. Beauty and the Beast
6. Toy Story
5. Ratatouille
4. Shrek
3. The Incredibles
2. The Lion King
1. Finding Nemo

I wasn't surprised about Finding Nemo, but seeing Enchanted in the list was a little of a surprise, since so little of it was actually animated.

Thoughts?

I always knew that Ice Age 2 was better than Grave of the Fireflies. But now I can back it up with facts!

This is like the list of Disney movies made in the last 15 years + anything 3D + movies that Yahoo users have heard their parents talk about.

It's pretty bad list... Finding Nemo doesn't deserve to be #1... Cars is horrible movie and it's #11 - ahead of several good movies. Ice Age II is even in that fucking Top 30?!?!? Yahoo people are idiots...

Where's Toy Story 2!? It's far and away superior to the original.

I'd get Lilo and Stitch in there since it's my favorite Disney cartoon.

Of course, I also didn't think Iron Giant was anything special and that it's way way way overrated.

Apparently Yahoo users aren't familiar with a little flick called "Heavy Metal". I've always loved that one, but I think this is more of a "family-friendly" list.

Claymation = a specific type of stop-motion animation.

In fact I'm sad there aren't more stop-motion movies on there.

EDIT: Beaten

Jeez what a terrible list. The omission of Prince of Egypt is enough to ignore the whole list.

I'm sorry. Over the Hedge is, empirically, 6923.3 times better than Prince of Egypt. I would put it up there with Spirited Away and The Incredibles as one of the best animated kid's movies of this decade.

I'm also a few who agreed with Entertainment Weekly rave review of "Hoodwinked" and thought it was one of the funniest films - Little Red Riding Hood by way of Rashômon

interesting inclusion - and no Royal Space Force Wings of Honneamise - sacre bleu.

I thought Perfect Blue was a better film than Millennium Actress

No Akira? Best animated feature of the past 20 years IMO.

Here's all I'd put in top 10, no order:

Akira
My Neighbor Totoro
Bambi
Sleeping Beauty
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Howl's Moving Castle
Peter Pan
Cinderella
Aladdin
Toy Story

Can't stand Finding Nemo.

1985's Night of the Galactic Railroad is also an excellent Japanese animated film worth checking out.
