Political Thrillers

I'm in the mood for Political Thrillers here recently.

I have JFK, Breech, All the Presidents Men.

What are some more good ones?

I just watched "State of Play" a BBC miniseries that was just fantastic.

There will be an American remake, as a film, coming next year.

Advise and Consent.
Very political, but not quite a 'thriller' tho it does generate a lot of honest suspense and has a killer ending.

I'm not sure what exactly a political thriller is. But I'll try to guess.

- No Way Out.
- Thirteen Days.

There's a lot of great recommendations in this earlier thread on political thrillers.

^I prefer The Confession from the same director. Looks as if most good or great political thrillers are from the '70s.

Others, in no particular order:
The Ear (Ucho)(1969) - more of a drama, I guess, but brilliant.
Illustrious Corpses (1976)
The Mattei Affair (1973)
All the President's Men (1976)
The Parallax View (1974)
Nada (1974)
Day of the Jackal (1973)
Executive Action (1973)
The Domino Principle (1978)
A Knife in the Head (1978)
Les Ordres (1974)
Night Flight from Moscow (1973)
The Conversation (1974)
Confessions of a Police Captain (1971)
Man on the Roof (1976)

Edited to add: How could I forget one of my top ten favourite films, The Old Gun (1976), though it's more thriller than political.

"The Candidate." A sort of-thriller because you don't know until the end whether he gets elected or not.

"Chinatown" is more thriller than political, but politics does play a role in the plot. That's also true of "The China Syndrome" and "Silkwood."

I've seen most of the ones recommended in this thread and that other thread but I just don't care for the genre. I could watch one and be like that was really good but then never revisit or think about the film again.
