Considering that most disaster movies that have come out in the last few years: "day after tomorrow", "the core", "armageddon", etc are virtually parodies in themselves I guess they'll cancel each other out.

The teaser trailer is online and in theaters with some prints of "Get Smart".

This movie looks so terrible, so fucking awful...

Here's a highlight -- Iron Man says "I am Iron Man" AND A COW FALLS ON HIM!

I'm not joking, that actually happens.

Oh, and the Hulk's pants fall off because he's too big and they don't fit him!!!

And Hancock flies off of a bench and accidentally hits a lamp post!

And for all you Zohan lovers, there's a bit of Juno and Carrie from Sex and the City riffing on a joke from "Don't Mess with the Zohan" (Jeez, how many things can they reference at one time?)

Disaster Movie? With a title like that the review writes itself. I can see the byline now:

Now That's What I Call Crap, Vol. 4.

I mean, seriously. They market the movie as "from the guys who have seen way too many movies." It should be "from the guys who have seen way too many movie trailers."

Like my friend put it, "they (the directors) must have pictures of someone with a donkey."

That movie isn't even out yet, is it? It's bad enough the "parody" films that came out last week, but now they're using material that hasn't even come out yet? What's the point?

Here's the trailer:

http://ca.askmen.com/video/2008_mar/mar24.html

After seeing this, I actually put a gun in my fucking mouth and had to be talked into putting it down. They said "The Dark Knight," and I slowly put it back onto the table.

I'd rather watch The Love Guru with my face trapped in a deep fryer than suffer through this.

Seriously, there should be PSA's saying friends don't let friends see this movie.

You only recommend this kind of movie to people who you don't want talking to you ever again.

to The Soup. The more love that show gets, the better.

Wow to the trailer.

It's like fucking MadTV: The Movie with all the cast members that are in the flick.

Seriously. Who is the black guy supposed to be? A young Cedric the Entertainer?

What tha? Did they make this movie 10 minutes ago? I'm surprised there's no references to Pineapple Express or Tropic Thunder.

I truly think that Friedberg and Seltzer have a bet to see how much money they can keep making off of unfunny comedies. They're geniuses & millionaires! America is either full of masochists or idiots. I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

Here's to Disaster Movie opening #1 at the box office!

There is a tradition that in ancient Greece, before being a literary genre, "satire" was a cry/curse/malediction used by sorcerers. It was so powerful it would aim to kill its intended victim. Really good satirists were reported to cause their victims to hang themselves. I think this kind of film qualifies as that kind of "satire". And I really, really like them because I really, really hate the films/people/institutions they attack, like most decent people on this planet.

Some themes are really universal and bring people from all walks of life together in laughter. As Lewis Black recently put it to soldiers serving in Iraq :

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/M9PNiHrq1ho&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/M9PNiHrq1ho&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The point you blasé young codgers are missing is that the purpose of "low humour" is to reaffirm the public's common humanity in troubled times.

This is my IMDb review of Meet the Spartans:

25 out of 66 people found the following comment useful :-
I'm so glad this film is a hit!, 29 January 2008

Author: Benoît A. Racine from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I'm a sophisticated film lover living in Canada. My taste runs to Fellini and Bergman. Yet I am very grateful that this little unpretentious year-end pantomime review of Hollywood's worst cinematic excesses is reaching its intended public. There is nothing wrong with a swift kick in the pants of subjects and individuals who should know better. As far as I am concerned, no parody will ever make fun ENOUGH of the belligerent, war-mongering, fascistic, racist, sadistic and homophobic aspects of "300". No film will humiliate ENOUGH the downgrading of Western civilization that are Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and the US obsession with celebrity, however undeserved. People go to this film because they crave its subject matter: bad movies passing as art, insane celebrities passing as human beings. They come away from it complaining that it is too vulgar, but apparently never take time to reflect that is exactly what their so-called culture has become: a quagmire of artlessness, violent acts, crude humour and body fluids. Everyone should thank the writers for telling it like it is.

If this movie has to get made to fund another movie, then that other movie better be the best movie *EVER*.

"Your favorite movies are going to be destroyed." How apt. Didn't notice that at first.

Oh, and this trend of "_____ Movie" is becoming a bad bonus round from Match Game. I could just see a contestant winning as Richard Dawson and the contestant mutually agree on "Shitty" as the blank.

you are wrong.

Epic Movie i would probably put on the same level as Lion King, Godfather, and Miller's Crossing.

cinematic, yet unrivaled.

i understand why you wouldnt like all these "-----" movies.

but you need to be more open minded as a film critic.
