Meet Dave (Brian Robbins, 2008) — Eddie Murphy as... a spaceship (cue facepalm)

Trailer | IMDB | July 11, 2008

From the makers of Shaggy Dog, Norbit and MST3K (what?) comes Meet Dave...

A crew of miniature aliens operate a spaceship that has a human form. While trying to save their planet, the aliens encounter a new problem, as their ship becomes smitten with an Earth woman.

This is perhaps the first trailer I've ever seen that I could barely finish watching. I don't know if this will bomb or make millions like Norbit. For all our luck it will do better business than Hellboy II.

I am starting to believe Eddie is just making the stupidest movies they possible send him JUST to see if people will watch them. What other excuse is there? He doesn't need the money (well maybe he if he really does have all those bastard children they talk about) and he can't honestly believe these are good films can he....This just looks weird to be honest and not in a good way but just in an embarrassing way. The amount of denial by everyone involved in this thinking they are making something worthwhile must be staggering.
One thing is for sure based on his choices in film the past 10 years I think he picked up that tranny prostitute not knowing it was a dude. He obviously is not a good judge of anything.

Although the basic idea COULD be done OK and maybe be funny...

this trailer proves that is NOT the case.

I'm very much alone in laughing hysterically at that trailer. maybe it's because I'm tired, but fuck, that was so bad I couldn't stop laughing.

that "Stying aliii" at the end made me bust out laughing.

I'll give it a shot, since Bill Corbett co-wrote it.

It sed to be called Starship dave but I guess the dumbasses that pay to see this film would probably think it was sci-fi or something based on that title so they changed it.

Awful...just awful. It looks like they didn't even try. Who did those effects? Looks like the movie was made in the 80s.

This looks like the guy who was in "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Coming to America" except he isn't as funny.

I though this looked better than anything Eddie Murphy put out in the past decade, not saying much but at least he looks like he is trying to be funny and not just a caring dad.
