Would Passion Of The Christ count? When I saw it in the theatre, it seemed that nearly everybody there was full of tears, although the ending got a huge round of applause.

Also, no one has mentioned Larry Clark's Bully yet.

The Passion of the Christ! Why did they have to kill poor ol' Jesus? If he would have lived, then everyone would have to pay for their sins which makes more sense...

The 78 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers is pretty tragic considering the ending and all.
