Robocop is badass in the original, a machine standing in the coke factory taking fire like he could give two shits less.

In this one we get a guy running around, in a batman suit, not getting hit by a single bullet which are fired by other machines. I would think OCP would have test products that can at least aim. WTF!

Come to think of it, based on the footage we've seen (in trailers, spots, and viral clips), ED209 is already in production and used in military deployment. I wonder if this means it'll be a mere cameo and no longer the badass that ripped Robocop a new one (until it fell down the stairs and squeeled like a pig).

You proclaim BvS is going to be bad no matter what without seeing a single frame of footage yet you mock those about RoboCop where we've seen a few trailers and entire scenes.



Edit: Don't get me wrong, BvS very well may be crap, but I'll wait to judge at least until I see some footage. Of course, I'm in the minority for liking MoS, so I'm not quite as pessimistic.

This got a proper remaster of the original out, I don't see Episode VII doing the same. If there's one good thing had remakes do, at least it's that.

And even if it weren't a remake, it looks like a piece of shit all on its own. What makes it more annoying is that it looks like a piece of shit that's wasting an excellent cast.

What's especially disappointing is that not only does it have a good cast, but it sounds like the director actually intended to make a properly intelligent film which honored the original, and it was bungled by the studio, who as usual hired someone iconoclastic and interesting to sand the edges off and make a commercial movie.

I'll see it. Maybe it'll have some beautiful, poetic or ironic moment that will make me change my mind about it. But this movie appears to be an embarrassment to the original and just an overall dud. Whoever is producing the turd must have no emotional connection to the original.

I guess I will see this since my copy of the newly remastered RoboCop came with a reward certificate for the remake. Since I only paid around $8 for the Blu ray, I consider that a good deal.
