That article is nearly 2 years old. It talks about how Warner Bros. put up money for the "upcoming film" Superman Returns.

fumanstan 03-01-08 12:32 AM

Yeah, this was announced awhile ago. Not much news since then.

It's going to be a live action film supposedly, but I was hoping for a complete cgi film with the style they used in the wow and burning crusade trailers.

No Marlon Wayans = No Sale

... oh wait. Wrong movie. Wrong year.

Considering the Halo movie couldn't even get off the ground, I doubt this is going to happen.

I've thought for years that Blizzard should make a CGI animated film, Warcraft or Starcraft... I'd actually prefer something based in the Starcraft universe, but since Warcraft is their bread and butter, I'm sure that if they really did someday make a movie, it would be that.

Uwe Boll asks Blizzard if he can make the World of Warcraft movie

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in video game talk, but since it's the movie license I figured it would go better here

http://www.strategyinformer.com/news...way-off-limits

Blizzard has essentially laughed the German director out of their offices, and certainly right out of Azeroth.

"We will not sell the movie rights, not to you... especially not to you," was apparently Paul Sams reply, to which Azeroth was pronounced saved!

"I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, 'We will not sell the movie rights..." Boll told MTV News.

To his own admission he goes on to to say "Because it's such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the company has with it."

There you have it, not only juicy news of rejection from Blizzard to Uwe Boll but his own acceptance he would make a "bad movie". Just the one Uwe?

So far an online petition is still ongoing that calls for the director to please stop making films, it originally had only 30,000 signatures but has since exploded to over 200,000. Uwe Boll himself has said that if it reached one million names then he would seriously consider stopping.

For the sake of the silver-screen, DVD 'bargain bins', torrent sites and videogames everywhere please do your duty for mankind and sign that petition.

Blizzard gets a gold star from me

Love the part where Boll goes on to say it would be a bad movie if he made it, and that might cause an issue with their money flow

Damn..I'm not a Warcraft fan..but I like the design and whatnot, the games were never really a thing for me but...I'm in for this.

^ Same here, I've always loved the designs/themes for World of Warcraft, but never got into it. I have hopes for this one though, especially with Raimi behind it.

They should charge by the hour and use cgi to continually re-arrange the story elements in a slightly different way..the RPG people would never leave the theatre!

"Didn't they fight wolves in the last scene?"

"Yeah, but these are slightly bigger wolves, and in a different shade of brown!"

Blizzard could take a couple of months worth of profits from the game and just bang out a $200 million dollar epic.

I can't wait for the scene where the protagonists attempt to trade for something and get inundated with messages about Anal [Fishing]...

Oh, wait...

Well the ultimate fight is against a greater evil, that both the alliance and horde have combined to fight against (The Prince Arthas, Lord Illidan, The Scourge)

Sam Raimi? I look forward to the scene where the Lich King gets an Emo haircut and "struts" down the street.
