Diablo Cody Script Leaked

http://www.**************.com/d/news...screenplay.php

Looks pretty good, what do you think?

PopcornTreeCt 02-25-08 09:11 PM

Umm...

If this is a real post I'd like to read it.

Nevermind, it's only 3 pictures of a screenplay. Found here.

Wow, I didn't know the link did that. here it is:

Is the movie called Removed?

The Bus 02-25-08 09:21 PM

It's actually a joke post. I know links to SA get auto-switched (since someone foolishly linked to one of their images) but here's the site:

A million apologies if that was rude to do.

For what it's worth, her next script (Jennifer's Body), is actually online if you know where to look. :)

From what I've heard, it sounds like
Spoiler:
a cross between Heathers and Phantom of the Paradise.

People give her flack for her dialog, but Ebert made a good point, it's styled no different than Quentin Tarantino's, who hasn't made a bad film yet, and his dialogue is just as outlandish... I hated Juno but am curious to see the next project

I thought the dialogue was more styled like Napolean Dynamite whereas Tarantino is styled a lot like Kevin Smith. In the sense, that both those guys have their characters talk about random stuff that has nothing to do with the plot.

So there's no confusion; Quentin Tarantino > Kevin Smith

I think her dialogue sucks, plain and simple. She's definitely no Tarantino. Cody's problem is that after she stopped blogging she forgot people in real life don't talk like that. I don't know anyone that uses the phrase "Honest to blog?" or "Shut your gob" in person. They would deserve a smack. I thought Juno sucked ass for that reason, among a few others.

Groucho 02-26-08 11:47 AM

With very few exceptions, movie dialogue never sounds like the way people "really" talk. So to fault her for that is ridiculous. Especially on a forum that worships P.T. Anderson.

People in real life don't talk like people in the movies anyway. In real life, people talk over each other, stutter, stumble and get their lines messed up.

You're telling me people in real life talk like those characters in NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN?

I don't go to the movies for real life...I go to escape from it for a few hours.

And remember, in real life you usually don't talk about drinking others' milkshakes and proclaim there's a whole ocean of oil under our feet and only one man can get to it.

Groucho 02-26-08 04:08 PM

Actually the "I drink your milkshake" lines were taken almost verbatim from an actual transcript of a guy describing drainage.

You're describing Alien. The one movie where people actually do talk like real life people.

SmackDaddy 02-26-08 04:28 PM

I wonder how many of the people who are complaining about the dialogue in Juno spend a lot of time hanging out at their local high school with 16 year old girls.

I mean really, barf me out, gag me with a spoon....who would talk like that??

It was actually from a state or federal Senator.

i.e. the "internet is a series of tubes" speech of a hundred years ago.

"Gob" is British slang for mouth. It's quite common to hear "shut your gob" there. Not much of a stretch for a nerdy kid to work a British phrase into their vernacular.

Ok, let me put it a different way: the dialogue annoyed the fuck out of me.
