I would have said is more a remake of the first one, which gave the series a nice symmetry.
I do feel the trilogy was wrapped up nicely with the last installment, but I also think Greengras and Damon do nice work and I'm willing to concede that they could come up with a good fourth movie. Maybe it's something unrelated to the trilogy, so it can stand separate from that storyline.

Given how everything was wrapped up in the third, maybe they should finally follow the plot of the three books and and have Bourne working for the CIA to track down a former arch nemesis.
It'd be an interesting change of pace if Pamela Landy and the rest were actually "allowed" to work with Bourne instead of against him.

New news from IMDB, woo-hoo!:
Damon Gets More Action With Bourne Role
Movie studio bosses have signed a deal to revive Matt Damon's amnesiac assassin character in a new series of hit action flick The Bourne Identity.
The estate of late author Robert Ludlum has given exclusive rights to Universal Pictures for Damon's character, Jason Bourne.
The three series saga has grossed more than $1 billion (GBP667.3 million) worldwide.
Ludlam Entertainment Chairman-CEO Jeffrey Weiner tells Daily Variety, "Universal has done such an excellent job with the first three films that they deserve the opportunity to keep Jason Bourne at the studio forever."
Damon and director Paul Greengrass have already been signed to a fourth film, scheduled for theatre release in 2010.

Bourne Producer Frank Marshall says 4th Bourne Movie coming 2011
http://www.kungfucinema.com/frank-ma...urne-film-6573
Between conversing with Lance Armstrong and announcing to the world that he is tucking his second daughter into bed, Frank Marshall, producer of the BOURNE films posted a few updates related to his next BOURNE entry on his Twitter account. He mentions that attached writer George Nolfi, who penned THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, should have a draft of the script ready by June and that "BOURNE 4 is in the works for summer 2011."
Marshall is currently overseeing production on THE LAST AIRBENDER, director M. Night Shyamalan's live-action adaptation of popular animated TV series, AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER.
On a side note, Netflix is now streaming the AVATAR series online for subscribers, or at least the first season.
Last October it was announced that Matt Damon will be returning to the role of "Jason Bourne" despite his suggestion in 2007 that he would not be playing the character again.
Paul Greengrass, director of THE BOURNE SUPREMACY and THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, is also returning to helm the fourth film.
There is yet no word on if fight choreographer Jeff Imada will be returning to arrange more killer fight sequences.
Regardless, one can only hope that Greengrass will finally see his Jabberwocky-style camera work and editing for the headache-inducing gimmick that it is and just let the great storytelling and action speak for itself this time.

Re: Bourne Producer Frank Marshall says 4th Bourne Movie coming 2011
I thought Ultimatum rounded out the series perfectly. I understand there's more money to be made, but where are they going to go with his character now? He's sworn off killing for the agency anymore, so maybe someone is coming at him independently, which would make it just like Supremacy.

I'm in for this. I'm a Bourne fan, the movies are fun. But I may boycott it becasue the producer found the need to reveal the news through Twitter.

Wasn't there a book in the series, where he is older and someone comes after his daughter or something? I could see some 'civilian' stuff being done, ala Taken. Though Damon has said its getting harder to do the fighting and stunts, hes 39 this year, and the first one made in 2002.

^^ If they were to go that route it would come off as nothing but a Taken rip-off. It's a good idea, just not good timing.
I agree with Finkpish that Ultimatum ended the series nicely but I enjoy the Bourne flicks so I welcome a new one.
And finally I'll add, Damn, Matt Damon is almost 40?! I thought he was still in his early 30's.
