I haven't seen all the films (has anyone?), and haven't read any "professional" predictions, so it was all total guesses for me pretty much.

Has anyone ever refused an award and insisted that it go to another nominee?

Only George C. Scott and Marlon Brando have refused oscars, but it was not because they wanted another nominee to have it. Scott hated everything that the Oscars represented and Brando did it to raise awareness for Native American Indians.

I remember those. I'm just thinking that if I was Clooney/et al I couldn't imagine accepting the actor award ahead of DDL.
