Re: Drag Me To Hell - Sam Raimi
I remember the first time I saw him in Hercules when I was a kid. Never knew what Evil Dead really was till probably around 4-5 yrs. ago...oh god did EDII change my life...it's a masterpiece. And yes...Drag Me to Hell needed a Bruce cameo..it actually ran through my head as I ask myself whether or not he'd be in it...
IIRC he's one of the demon voices. Must've been busy with Burn Notice.
I have to say this is the most fun I had in theaters since Grindhouse. This, Star Trek, and Up remain the best three films I've seen so far this year.

Agreed. I never go all out nuts and excited in the theater but Grindhouse was the exception...as was this. And Yes, this, ST and UP are the best so far.

^ Interesting indeed, but not likely. I agree that this will develop a strong cult following in the ensuing years after it comes out on home video, but I'm always going to be bothered by the fact that Raimi went with piss-poor CG in some scenes that clearly would have been better were he to use practical FX.

Saw this on it opening night. If you were a fan of Sam Raimi's style of horror (which I am), you would love this movie. If not, I could see how people would dislike it. I'm hoping it gets enough of a cult following to merit a sequel down the road.
My idea
Okay, I admit it's self serving, but dang I would have loved for Bruce to show up!

^10, 15 years ago I would have been lovin' that idea... Not sure if they could pull it off today, but I'll admit that would make for a pretty cool premise.

Re: Drag Me To Hell - Sam Raimi
So I finally caught this over the weekend and loved every minute. Just very reminiscent of the Evil Dead series which are some of my favorite movies, so I truly enjoyed this. I was looking for a Bruce cameo throughout the whole thing and I kind of saw the ending coming as soon as she found the button so quickly after having it mingled up with Justin Long's belongings.. but I loved the over-the-top humor and I actually kind of felt bad at the end since the girl who plays the main character is really cute.
One of the best movies of the year for sure.

Re: Drag Me To Hell - Sam Raimi
Some movies are so good as just one film - i hope there is no sequel. I would not want these to be like a Saw series. Maybe a good sequel would be the girl and gypsy squaring off with each other in hell. No one has made a good hell movie (except for jacobs ladder). I think sam raimi could do an interesting hell movie, which is much better than what dreams may come, spawn, or constantine.

Just watched it on Blu... my god I love this movie. I see on Wiki it had an $80 million worldwide, on a $30 budget, not too bad.

The BD for this film is as fantastic as I thought it would be. Awesome PQ, phenomenal AQ. The only spot it's lacking in is extras. A commentary with Raimi would have been nice.
I def prefer the theatrical cut after having watched the unrated version. All the unrated cut adds is some additional CGI grue that, quite frankly, looks pretty poor. The theatrical cut played perfectly for me when I first saw it, and it's no different now.

Saw it last night. Loved the shit out of it. I always wondered how SR horror would translate into the standard polished hollywood world and now I know.
Every time I thought this flick was going to drag, it picked up again. You really feel for the main character as well and Lohman played that part (surprisingly) well.
I was also very surprised with the amount of daytime scares we get in this movie - not use to that and they were pulled off very well.
I've been spoiled with two solid horror movies this October (well dmth came out whenever but I just got around to seeing it now) Trick r Treat and this one. Not just two good horror flicks but two very well made horror films.
Nobody does this type of horror better than Raimi - he's clearly proved that with this film.

I'm not a horror fan, but had fun watching this one. Definitely rolled my eyes a few times, but you can't help but love the humor. Doesn't hurt that Lohan is one of the most adorable girls I've seen in some time on the big screen.

I'm just glad that Lohman was in this instead of Ellen Page. I can only imagine how much less I'd like it if it were the other way around.
