I guess as of late he is more of a star, but his best work Saving Silverman, Cable Guy, High Fidelity, Orange County etc.

Character actors are definitely the best!!! They usually always make the movie for me.

Love 'em from the 30' and 40's, like William Demerest and Edward Everett Horton



I love 'em from the 50's and 60's - Timothy Carey and Lee J. Cobb




The 70's and 80's, like Harry Dean Stanton and (gotta mention favorite Horror character actor) Michael Berryman



And then some of my favorite more recent character actors - William Forsythe, John Glover, Ben Foster just to name a few...

There's a black actor who always plays the screaming police chief. Can't find out who the guy is, and can't recall any movies he's been in. His performances aren't exactly memorable.
