Maybe it was just the lighting and the fact that it was just partially obscured. I think that I'm just so used to Freddy looking a certain way.

^ I have the same complaint. Everything else in the trailer looked good though.

I think it was the lighting that made it like that, besides the minor gripe for the voice, I hope it's a great flick.

Re: A Nightmare on Elm Street about to become A Nightmare on Remake Row

Meh. Honestly, I thought I could accept a new Krueger, I had an open mind but that trailer did nothing for me. It only made me yearn for Englund under the makeup. I'm sure that, much like every other PD production, this flick looks great from the marketing but it'll suck horrendously in theaters.

In fact, I know some people who are close to the production and they've said it's a piece of shit. One of the lead actors, can't remember who, wants to distance himself from the film as much as possible. I heard they were doing constant rewrites on set and nothing was working. I'm expecting another slick piece of crap a la F13th or TCM.

He looks like Beaker from The Muppets, and the voice makes me cringe in the not-a-good way.

Trailer looked pretty good. definitely gonna take time gettin use to the new freddy voice. The only thing that scares me about this movie is seeing "from producer michael bay" haha

So what's with the "What do you think I did, I didn't do anything"-crying?
I thought he was a psycho. Is he innocent in this one?

And the Sean Connery voice. WTF?

Fuck that shit.

"DON'T FALL ASLEEP!"

Who came up with that one? That's so creative!

Ugh. Bad face, and horrible voice. But it did look slick. Opening his shirt to reveal the sweater was cool.

Re: A Nightmare on Elm Street about to become A Nightmare on Remake Row

It looks more like a straight up, close to shot by shot remake than I was expecting. I thought it dealt more with the backstory. If they were going that route, why not get Englund?

I am very open to remakes, but seeing and hearing a new version of Freddy just irked me. I think I am going to have trouble with this one without Englund, but we will see.

I liked the trailer but I'm not too sure of that quick shot of the Krueger Makeup.

Looks good. I'm not sure, though. The TCM and Friday the 13 remakes were both alright. But nothing to get too excited over. The original TCM was good, mainly because of it's hectic, chaotic nature. I honestly don't even remember the first F13. That said, the original 'Nightmare' better, more substantial movie to begin with.

I didn't see any problems with Freddy's makeup. The old makeup had that bloody, gooey, 'fresh out of the oven' look, with some cut up flesh dangling. The new makeup makes me think of what a burn victim would look like after a few weeks. I dunno, that's just my take.

Re: A Nightmare on Elm Street about to become A Nightmare on Remake Row

honestly, it looked pretty good until what seemed to be shot for shot recreations of scenes from the older movies (the girl possessed on bed (1), the kid party (2), the grating pipes scene (all). then, to not recognize Haley at all and finally the voice...didn't do much for me.

But thats what was good about the makeup. IMO his look was frozen so to speak when the dream demons offered him the power, as he was burning. To do a natural burn look, like he has been decaying since his 'death' just looks weird.

I don't know, that voice sounds like Sean Connery after a stroke.

But A Nightmare On Elm St. is my favorite slasher series, so I will see it just out of curiosity.

I'm already sold on Katie Cassidy being in this. I've enjoyed most of the Platinum Dunes horror films/remakes. Will definitely be seeing this.

I have this feeling like we are still going to see Englund back in this role at least one more time.

Seeing how Englund isn't dead I don't see how.

I agree.
But let's wait and see the perforance and not act like those James Bond and Joker haters when the actors were announced.
