METALSTORM: THE DESTRUCTION OF JARED-SYN (1983) doesn't even have an ending! I didn't mind, as the 3-D was great.

Wes Craven's Shocker was his attempt at creating another Freddy Krueger and was supposed to become the next horror franchise.

Exactly. Instead we'll probably get Aliens vs Predator 3.

Equilibrium - I'd love to see a follow up to this one. UltraViolet had to have been a teenage fantasy project. Mr Wimmer, please create a worthy successor.

Deep Rising was a great, cheesy monster movie that seemed like a sequel might have been intended.
Independence Day screams out for a sequel. Shush you ID4 haters!

they definately made enough money back to make a sequel.
Worldwide gross doesn't mean a whole lot when the big revenues are going to the regional foreign distributors and not to the studio who produced it. New Line was counting on American dollars which didn't happen, and combined with them being folded into Warner Bros...I highly doubt we'll see a sequel (which is unfortunate since the 2nd book is the best in the "Dark Materials" trilogy, imo).

Someone prolly already said this, but Stargate was supposed to have a sequel.

You could probably put Twin Peaks on this list. Three films were suppose to have been made, but since Fire Walk With Me didn't do very well in North America (supposedly it did good in Japan) the other two movies never materialized.
