Screw D.C.'s Teen Titans, bring on Marvel's Power Pack movie!

I never liked Teen Titans - can't stand them in the comics and can't stand the show. But I do like Marvel's 1980s Power Pack (not the resurrected 2005 version). Anyone else a fan of Power Pack or hear any more news about an upcoming movie?

For a kid superhero group, their highlight was when they fought Sabretooth during the Marauders massacre of the Morlocks in the X-Men comics. It was pretty intense since Sabretooth was ready to shred them up. I don't know if Marvel can even imply that type of violence on kids now in their current comics (I have no idea, i'm just a casual comic book fan...and I have no idea who are the main villains, if there are any, from the Power Pack comic).

The last news I heard about a Power Pack film was from 2005: http://www.efavata.com/CBM/powerPack.htm

This reminds me of the DC Metal Men discussion in the forum ... last year, I think? If they took a goofy approach to the material, and not try to drive all that comic book melodrama down everybody's throats, it could work.

Probably the best memory of 1980s Power Pack I have is a team-up book with Spider-man, illustrating the horrors of child abuse. (No, Michael Jackson isn't in it.) My copy was even signed by the webslinger himself. heh

Nope, sorry, still would rather see a Titans movie. :p

Um...no.

The PP was horrible. Their comic was garbage compared to the TT stories that Wolfman/Perez produced in the early 80's.

You're right, that's certainly not as cool as a bunch of Marvel Toddlers from the 80s.

God no. Unless they can teach me not to let someone touch me in my no no place. Sure titans did it also, but Titans > Power Pack. or Runaways > Power Pack

The Teen Titans are teens anyway. The Power Pack are a bunch of elementary school/junior high kids. So they would be two different movies/genres anyway. So, I would certainly see a Teen Titans movie as well if they made it. My dislike of Teen Titans has to mainly due with Robin - I have trouble accepting Robin as a respectable superhero...The only version of Robin I've ever liked from any form of media was this fan-made trailer called "Grayson": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiZuvJ48MZ0

Concerning coolness either way, a Teen Titans movie or Power Pack movie is most likely going to get a PG rating. It would be nice if they both got PG-13 ratings. If either movie was made in 1980s, they would be rated PG, but that time period "PG" would be considered PG-13 today, due to the many dark children's movies of that time period, and that time wasn't as politically correct as today.

I'm sure both films would end up being another Sky High anyway. Maybe Guillermo Del Toro will get his hands on them (if Del Toro does the next Harry Potter movie as currently rumored, that will be then the first Harry Potter movie that I will consider seeing).
