Hill Have Eyes (2006 Remake)
Planet Terror
Disturbia
The Descent (I fucking hated this movie, but I guess you may like it)
These aren't necessarily scary but will keep you on the edge of your seat:
Pan's Labyrinth
Sunshine
Bourne Trilogy
The Host
1408
Children of Men
Hill Have Eyes (2006 Remake)
Planet Terror
Disturbia
The Descent (I fucking hated this movie, but I guess you may like it)

The Descent is a bit derivative, but is probably the best scary movie to hit cinemas in the last 5 or so years. I absolutely love the movie.

It depends on what scares you.
Monsters?
Serial killers?
Ghosts?
Claustrophobic atmosphere?
Your 5 years old or newer restriction limits things. Personally, as much as I like horror movie, only movies that feature ghosts really scare me.

I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard good things about 'Joshua', a little independent horror/supernatural flick. I think it releases on DVD either tomorrow or a week tomorrow.

Shutter. Turn off the lights and listen to it in DTS.

I thought it was great for what it was trying to be. It's all about expectation going in, though, I think. Definitely have to be in the right mindset for it. Pitch perfect ending.
Again, though, not a scary flick.

Don't see Disturbia, easily one of the worst movies I saw last year.
Descent is great though, really scary and gory. I hear good things about The Orphanage, as well.

The Descent would be at the top of my list. I would also check out Dog Soldiers, the director's previous flick.
