I agree that I won't watch a film for the first time on a portable device but once I've seen it, I have absolutely no problem passing the time on a trip by watching one of my favorite films on my ipod or portable DVD player.

I've had an 80-gig video ipod since they became available, and it would never occur to me to actually put video on it. I'm amazed people watch things on these postage-stamp sized screens.

I have movies on my PSP.. I only watch them on long flights when I'm not interested in the in-flight entertainment. Saves battery usage to watch a movie than it does to play a game.

I have a portable DVD player, 7", that I watch for 30 minutes everyday at lunch. I don't think this is what he is talking about though. I wouldn't be able to stand having to squint at a movie on one of those other tiny things.

And when you're waiting for the train at three in the morning and you have no one to talk to, it's not so bad to be watching Die Hard on a three-inch screen.

Lench is the man and I agree with him 100%. After owning and watching films on a 110" projection screen, I could never go back to watching films on anything smaller than a 60" TV. Yes, I'm spoiled but seriously, if you regularly watch dvds on a screen smaller say, 50", you really are missing out on the theater experience.
I'm at the point where I don't even enjoy gaming that much on portables anymore.
