Funny thing is that the production book has been available for almost 2 years.

It got annoying looking through that at work and realizing I'd probably never see the film. Good to see it's getting a BD/DVD release, so I'm excited about that. Also like KillerCannibal, I'm hoping they so some sort of limited release around Halloween.

^ I'm thinking the best we can hope for is another showing at Screamfest in Oct. Should that happen, I'll be there once again. I'd recommend anyone else in CA do the same.

Here's the cover art. I believe the top will be the standard and the bottom the Blu-Ray.

I read somewhere the top would be a slipcover, the bottom would be under that.

Yep. Top is slipcover, bottom is DVD. I'm ok with the slip, but the actual cover gives away a very cool spoiler. Dumb move, WB.

Damn it! When I saw that I was wondering if maybe that image was something that would give something away. :/

Regardless, I've been dying to see this, for what seems like eternity now, can't wait to pick it up.

I picked up the Sam doll from Sideshow and it is sweet. You can remove his bag and you get that face. Can't wait for the Blu release.

I've heard that Sideshow doll is going fast, so I'd recommend any collectors pick one up. It's a great figure.

Also, this is screening next Thurs at Comic Con and again this Oct. at Screamfest in LA (where I saw it last year). I know everyone wants to get the Blu, but this is certainly one you shouldn't miss in theaters if you have the opportunity.

Whew! I read that press release and thought we were only getting a single bonus feature, then I saw the Blu gets all the goodies. Score!

Everyone needs to buy this Day One.

So you're willing to forego watching one of the best horror films of the decade over some bonus features? Granted, I do feel bad for DVD-only buyers who get the shaft, but why don't you just get a BD player already? You can get them for under $200 and you're only going to be doing yourself a favor if you make the purchase. No need to worry about BD exclusives anymore, and there will be MANY more titles that have them.

Price has nothing to do with it, the checklist for suck - 1) Runtimes under 2 hours, 2) Ratings less than R, 3) High Bitrates.

forcing him to watch Up on blu would be his equivalent to Hell on Earth.

Bad Boys 2 on VHS ftw!

Oh and even if I get a Blu-ray player i WILL NEVER pay the exorbitant prices they want for their Blu-ray titles. There is no fucking way.

Exorbitant prices from who? Don't you buy 2-disc SE DVDs instead of single-disc releases? The BD is often the same price, or only $1-2 more, as the SE DVD. Prices on many BD's have hit as low as $6.99 on Amazon for good titles (like The Omega Man). I think that, as a fan of film (as long as it's R-rated and over 2 hours), you owe it to yourself to reevaluate your hatred toward Blu-ray and accept that, in the end, you'll benefit from adopting it.

re: Trick 'r Treat (2007) w/d: Dougherty

I love my bluray, and they look amazing, but are there actually people who will pay a 37 dollar price point for a bluray? I know I have never spent more than 24.99 for a blu myself. I don't remember dvd's ever being over 24.99, but I was a bit late on the dvd train. I will never pay 37 bucks for a blu, I will just wait 2 months and get it way cheaper. Not only that, but a store near me sells all new blurays at 18.99, I just have to wait until they get a copy which is like 3 or 4 weeks usually after release.

re: Trick 'r Treat (2007) w/d: Dougherty

I am really looking forward to this, will rent it the day it comes out.

Would be planning to pick up the DVD if the bonus features weren't crap. Who knows, by October, I may have a Blu-Ray player, but it all depends on money.

I'm not particularly anxious to pick up a $99 Blu player, if it's done, it needs to be done right.

still bullshit, plain and simple.
