Edward Norton, where are you?

I was wondering where he's been lately so I hopped over to imdb to see if I missed anything. Aside from his voice in Kingdom of Heaven he hasn't done anything since 2003's Italian Job remake. He seems pretty busy, though he's got 2 more films expected to come out this year and 2 more coming out in 2006. Look forward to seeing him again back on the screen.

So ya kinda answered your own question there.

PopcornTreeCt 07-22-05 08:31 PM

Yeah, I was just trying to spur up some Edward Norton discussion.

Seantn 07-22-05 08:36 PM

The funny thing is, he wouldn't have even done the Italian Job if he had the choice. He was forced into doing it by Paramount. I saw him in person, before Italian Job came out, and he was telling us all (a group of about 10 people) that it was a 'shit script' and he was forced to do the film because Paramount had him under contract do another film with them.

I didn't hate the movie...but it appears he might not have done a film since before 2003 if he had things his way. I guess he's just taking a break.

Brain Stew 07-22-05 08:45 PM

He was recently on the tv show, Stella.

Fincher Fan 07-23-05 02:09 AM

I look forward to seeing him onscreen again soon. He was the best thing about Kingdom of Heaven.

Matthew Chmiel 07-23-05 04:13 AM

Last I heard, he was trying to raise funding so he could direct the anticipated sequel to Keeping the Faith.

The Infidel 07-23-05 04:56 AM

I heard he was trying to live life as a normal human being, and then he stopped and thought to himself "why in the world would anyone wonder what the hell I'm doing?"

;)

From what I understand, he's a fairly arrogant guy and considers himself an acting artist.

Imagine being him, forced to do the film by a contract, then spending your first day acting with Marky-Mark.

I really enjoyed that cameo, it was quite unexpected

TheMadMonk 07-23-05 01:03 PM

He's probably still upset from not getting to bang Salma Hayek anymore. Can you blame the guy?

Buford T Pusser 07-23-05 08:53 PM

Mrs. Pusser is a fan and is ready for more of his acting artistry.

Mr. Cinema 07-23-05 08:57 PM

Norton is definitely one of my favorite actors. The last thing I saw him in that was great was "25th Hour".

Sunday Morning 07-23-05 10:44 PM

he's sleeping, leave him alone.

NatrlBornThrllr 07-24-05 03:28 PM

He's my favorite of the younger bunch of actors. Probably one of the only guys who will draw me to the theater based on a starring role.

Will Edward Norton make a comeback?

This guy was hailed as the greatest actor of his generation. Primal Fear. American History X. Fight Club. He was amazing. Then *poof he's gone. He does a couple movies here and there but nothing truly noteworthy.

I always thought his career was kinda parallel to Christian Bale. Norton's best performance was in 1998's American History X while Bale's was in 2000's American Psycho. Both were primed to have incredible careers. Yet Norton disappeared and Bale is finally starting to become a household name.

Will this guy make a comeback?

kantonburg 12-28-07 06:07 PM

I hope so. I really like Norton.

EdTheRipper 12-28-07 06:16 PM

He's pretty talented so I'd imagine so.

Geofferson 12-28-07 06:26 PM

I liked Norton in his last three movies (Down in the Valley, The Illusionist, The Painted Veil).

The upcoming Incredible Hulk should qualify as noteworthy.

Daytripper 12-28-07 06:34 PM

Huh? Comeback?? He hasn't fallen off the radar. He's been working non-stop. The films you mentioned were mostly critical successes, not box-office. Save for "Primal Fear". It made 56M. But from that point on, he's done "The Score" (71M), "Red Dragon" (93M), "25th Hour" (critical success only), "The Italian Job" (106M), "The Illusionist" and "The Painted Veil".

NiCK Crush 12-28-07 06:39 PM

Pride & Glory looks good... and Motherless Brooklyn should be even better.

fumanstan 12-28-07 06:50 PM

Yeah, he never left. I swear we had this conversation already just a few months ago too.

Daytripper 12-28-07 07:00 PM

Also, I've always been a huge fan of Christian Bale's work, but he's not in the same league with Norton IMO. And I also think Norton is more of a household name than Bale.

Brack 12-28-07 07:12 PM

someone needs to hit up imdb before making such threads. seriously.
