Vincent Price's appearance in Edward Scissorhands was a great sendoff.

John Cazale in Deer Hunter for best
It's a favorite of mine, but Orson Welles playing Unicron in Transformers is a pretty low point for the former wunderkind

i thought Marlon Brando in "The Score" was pretty decent. certainly not on par with his greatest, but at least a nice little piece.

Too bad Orson Welles didn't die after Citizen Kane came out. He would have achieved legendary, almost mythic status among film aficionados.

What about after The Magnificent Ambersons which he did 1 year after Kane.

Not to mention "The Lady From Shanghai" and "Touch of Evil." Orson was a lot more than the director of "Citizen Kane."

John Schlesinger's "The Next Best Thing" probably qualifies for worst final film by a director.

Robert Altman's Prarie Home Companion was a perfect send off as far as I'm concerned.

When I was a kid, I imagined a conversation between Raul Julia and John Candy in the afterlife where they asked each other what their last movie was, and then they felt sorry for each other.
