Re: Anthony Michael Hall...

In the commentary to Vacation, Chevy Chase notes some weird thing that AMH did on-screen and comments on it. AMH retorts: "Is that why I wasn't in the next one?"

I thought it was a great line.

Not overrated at all. Now, Vegas Vacation...that movie just blows.

Obligatory mention of poster's favorite scene: when Eddie totally wrecks the family's little windmill decoration in the scene where he and Clark are drinking eggnog and talking by the tree.

Oddly enough, that song leads off my Christmas mix CD this year (the wintery version by Matt Pond PA).

I say yes, but until it airs for 24 hours straight, it won't be the most overrated movie I've ever seen.

It's not the most brilliant movie ever but it's just such a likeable movie.

"Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Kiss my ass. Kiss your ass. Kiss his ass. Happy Hanukkah."

Such a great movie. The entire sequence of stapling the lights to the roof is comedy gold.

I always thought this movie was unfunny and never understood the love for it. I think the original Vacation is a classic, and probably in my Top 10 of all-time comedies, but I have tried to watch this when they show it on cable just to see if I am missing anything, and I don't laugh very much.

Do the people who don't like this movie also hate kittens and Halloween?

Agreeed, it's a classic. The classic lines are endless, I quote the movie quite often.

-Shitter's full, honey, have you checked our shitter.
-He's got some mississippi leg hound in him, so if he goes to town, just best to let him finish.

My mind is going blank, but there are so many more. Now, I'm gonna have to dig it out to watch it, also, finally went to target to exchange my still sealed snapper to get the keep case.

I'm always finding new things... like just 2 years ago I realized that Eddie is wearing a dickie under his white sweater.

And in the Wal-Mart you can tell his pants are way too tight.

I love that line

It's just one of those movies that gets me in Christmas mode. For me, it's even with A Christmas Story.

I manage to work this bit of dialogue into conversation from time to time.

This is a fine holiday comedy. Fine. Funny and fine.
